We are taking our first DVC trip this week and was wondering what size bottle do you get for shampoo and conditioner? Trying to figure if we need to bring our own.

You get the small hotel size bottles in each bathroom. That really comes in handy in the 2BRs with three baths. So if you have lots of long haired members in your family, you could run out. For DH and I we easily make the bottle last until the next cleaning day.

If you run out, you can always ask the front desk for more. I love their bath products and they have never turned me down or charged me when I ask for extras. I keep the little lotion bottles in my purse when I'm not in Disney (I got 5 little bottles on my last trip...)

You may not have been charged but technically you should have been and just as easily could have been. For a cash stay you wouldn't have been but once you hit the points timeshare stays there are charges for things if you need more than what is provided at check in and on cleaning days:

"Pay As You Play
With Pay As You Play service, you'll be provided with the following amenities at no extra charge at the start of your stay and during each Housekeeping service. After that, you may purchase more amenities for the following fees (fees are subject to change):

  • Toiletries Package: $5 - includes 1 facial soap, 1 bath soap, 1 shampoo, 1 conditioner, 1 shower gel
  • Coffee Package: $3 - includes 1 package of coffee, 8 sugars, 8 creamers, 8 artificial sweeteners
  • Towel Package: $6 - includes 4 bath towels, 2 hand towels, 4 washcloths, 1 bath mat
  • Laundry Detergent (only in 1-, 2- and 3-Bedroom Villas): $1 - includes 1 box for 1 load of laundry"

I understand what they say in their policy, which is why I said that I have never been turned down or charged. Maybe it's because I'm asking for one item like lotion? I'm sure if I requested the entire package, it would be a different story.

No, it shouldn't make a difference. You have been lucky.

The toiletry size is 37 mL/1.25 ounce.
When I was at BWV in March, they were h20+ grapefruit bergamot products:
- shower gel
- shampoo
- conditioner
- body lotion

I was in a 1-bedroom. There were two of each in my room when I arrived.

There also were two h20+ sea salt bath soaps at 57g/2 oz
and two h20+ sea salt facial soap at 42 g/1.5 oz.

Normally I don't use any of their stuff, but I used one of the soaps because I wanted to wash my hands on the day I arrived and I had not had Bell Services bring up my Owner's Lockers yet. On Trash & Towel day, Housekeeping did not replace that bar of soap.

(I probably should add that I didn't need them to replace that bar of soap. I switched to my own soap as soon as I opened my Owner's Locker. Just thought I would mention that they did not replace it.)

As noted, hotel sizes but it's decent stuff so lasts a while and they'll replace at cleaning, trash/towel so you may have enough. You could always ask for more and take the chance on being charged if needed. I've collected from our trips over the years and use at home at times. I'm currently using shampoo and conditioner from our Dec trip and it's taking me about 2 weeks to use up each bottle with just me alone, my wife about 1 week though when she uses it by herself.

I have noticed that the DVC resorts are not consistent on the items given. Sometimes we get lotion and other times we do not. So I do not plan on them providing lotion. As to not getting soap when our bar is not finished, we have not had that happen at a DVC resort, but did have that happen at a moderate recently when we added a couple of days before our DVC stay. If they saw we had the bar soap and even a partial bottle of anything we didn't get replacements. Since it is part of our cost of the stay, it seemed pretty cheap to me. I hope this is not a Disney nor DVC policy.

I'm home today at the Poly and we got two sets of everything so should last me and the hubs the trip. We are only here for a long weekend trip. Thanks everyone!

I actually pack my own, and take what is in the bathroom, home.

I like the stuff that they leave, but I am afraid I will run out while I am there.
