My DH, DD3, & I are taking my Db, SIL, 2DD & DS on our first trip ever to WDW as DVC members. It will be their first trip ever to WDW. We bought sight unseen in November because of all of the wonderful information we have read from our new DIS DVC Family. ( A BIG THANK YOU TO ALL). We are staying in a 2BR AT BVC in just 17 DAYS!!!

I was wondering if there is anything you may recomend to me that I maybe able to plan for that would make this trip extra special to them and possibly impress my husband (looking for more points ;) ). I was thinking along the lines of a epcot view??? Maybe a fishing excursion for him at the yacht club?? Any other suggestions would be great.

Thanks again!!!!

and Welcome Home.

BCV is my home also. Just show your Dh all that the Epcot area has to offer and Im sure he will be hooked!

A fishing excursion would be nice (catch and release). The Breathless is also docked in the Yacht Club Marina and if available, that would be a very special cruise. Just looking at it was special enough for us!

Take a walk around the Boardwalk or Lounge on the Beach and look at it all lit up.

I have not been "home" yet either, but we have stayed at the Beach Club and we have visited the resort every trip.

Oh yeah! Take him to Beaches N Cream!

Have a great time no matter what you choose.

Congratultions and Welcome Home!!

We also bought, sight unseen back in 1998. On our 1st trip home, I was very nervous as we had never even seen the resort AND we were bringing along my mom and niece and nephew. I was so afraid I would be disappointed, that we would all feel we made a mistake but completely the opposite happenned! As soon as we were welcomed home and made our way to our 2 bdrm villa, we knew we had made the right decision in DVC. Everything completely exceeded our expectations...so, in how to make things more special, I think just being there is special enough

Have fun going home!

Thank you so much for all of your welcome homes and your insight.

I have been nervous, not knowing what to expect, but I guess you're right, just being there should be magical enough!!!

I can't wait. I'll let you know how it went when we return!!

Thanks again - :Pinkbounc :bounce: :Pinkbounc

Just let your DH have a night to relax over at the ESPN Club. Then tell him it would be easier for him to have those kinds of relaxing nights if you had more points for extended stays. Or you could let him go golfing on one of the championship courses there and make the same point.

Good luck...and WELCOME HOME! :bounce:

Encourage your DH and DB to rent a couple of water mouse boats and enjoy an hour or so zipping around on the water. :boat: They can be rented right in front of the Beach & Yacht Club.

I also bought sight unseen and have never regretted it for a moment. You'll love being a DVC owner. Have a wonderful time, and be sure to tell us all about it when you're back! :chat:

We didn't buy site unseen, but we bought the first time in 1997 and the second time in 2002, and have never, not for onemoment, regretted it. I would probably not eat for a week to be able to afford my DVC, if it became necessary!;)

The BCV area is beautiful. Stormalong Bay(the big pool) is fabulous...go there and have a lovelylittle drink from Hurrican Hannah's...they have some great alcoholic and non-alcoholic libations there.

An IllumiNations cruise is very special, but also tough to get on short notice.

If your DH is a sports fan, ESPN is terrific.

If he is a fisherman, a fishing excursion is great.

If he is a golfer, there are some good golf packages.

If he'd like a spa treatment, there are a couple of nice spas.

If you could swing an Epcot view, being able to see some of the IllumiNations fireworks is a treat.

Renting a surrey bike and buzzing around the area is fun.

Jellyrolls is a fun spot for some drinks and good times.

You can also venture over to mini golf and DD...there's tons of great dining on property.

See if you can find out if anything good will be happening at Wide World of Sports while you're there.

I understand being nervous....we bought while at WDW, but I had a few nightmares about DVC not being what it is supposed to be in the weeks leading up to our first trip "home"....and leading up to the first time we took guests! I guess its natural to be nervous about it!

Have a wonderful trip...I think you've received some good suggestions on winning over your dh! I know if I had to convince my dh to get more points the best time would be on a really great day during our vacation. As it is, I know that when an add on is possible for us, I won't have to do too much convincing!
