first trip do-over

Eeee! So exciting!

Have you started packing yet? Lol! I usually pack like, 2 weeks before a vacation.

I haven't actually put anything in suitcases yet, but I do have a big pile of stuff on the chair in our bedroom to pack up. my mom is here visiting until the 1st, so i'm trying to wait until she has to leave before I get our suitcases out. I have a huge packing list written up and keep going over our plans, trying to decide if I should make any last minute changes. I am so ready to go! I put away all the Christmas decorations today and am just ready to go see Mickey!

I have a question for anyone reading this.....does anyone have any info on where the characters are meeting since camp Minnie/mickey is closing? our youngest really wants to see Pocahontas and i'm wondering where she will be when we're there. any help would be great!

Looks like you had lots to keep you busy while you were waiting for your trip! I loved all the Christmas/Birthday/Frozen pics. Looks like fun! Frozen was great wasn't it?

They only was of checking for character locations that I know of is that website...Kenny the Pirate or something like that, maybe google it? Sorry I am not more help!

We are also having a "do-over"! I (and DD22 and DD19) went on our last trip Spring Break 2013. It was pretty awful- short story- the crowds were terrible and there was an instance where I actually had someone yell at me.
And we are also going back in January (a little later than you are) We're booked at the CR and I am sooo excited to be within walking distance of MK. I stayed at this resort when I was 12 (many years ago)
All around thrilled!!

hold up.....someone YELLED at you.....at DISNEY?!? That is not right!! You definitely need a do over! The crowds over thanksgiving are a big reason we are doing another trip too. It was SO crowded. We missed a lot and are hoping for a much less crowded trip this time. Plus, I'm excited that its cheaper! We only get to stay in a moderate because of that.

oh my gosh--frozen was SO good! I wasn't sure what it was actually about before we went, but I loved it. I just told the girls today that we can meet Anna and Elsa at Epcot. They are so excited! And I saw that its based on the Hans Christian Anderson story the snow queen. Now I want to read it.

I keep checking Kenny the pirates site, but he still has camp Minnie/Mickey listed for Pocahontas. I sent an email to ask but he said he doesn't know where she will be yet. I know we'll find her when we get there, I'm just so nuts about planning stuff it's driving me crazy not to know. I actually checked the weather for that week already too so I sort of know what to pack. It's a wonder I haven't seriously driven myself crazy!

It was a rainy/stormy day at DHS and everyone was dodging in and out of shops to stay dry. We were in the Star Wars gift shop where one of the rides exits into the shop, and the doorway had become blocked by a large group (not exiting the ride) and I quietly said "If 1 person could move to the side the exit line would be able to move forward" and a women instantly raised her voice and said "I'm traveling with 6 children and 2 strollers!!!" and I should mind my business. I was horrified needless to say. Even a CM didn't know what to say. Luckily the sun eventually came out and the day turned out great. In fact my nephew won the American Idol Experience that night!

that is just crazy! I always feel like, hey, you're at Disney. How bad could it really be? My fingers are crossed for no rain on your trip so you can avoid crowded crabby parents wielding strollers! when is your trip?

Our "do-over" trip is the weekend starting Jan 31st. I primarily booked it because of the low crowd attendance (and because I work for a school district I'm unable to take a lot of time off during the reg school calendar) I know I can't do spring break again. So I opted for a shorter but hopefully sweeter trip

question--has anybody been in the make a shirt store at downtown Disney lately? I would love to get vanellope von schweetz shirts made for us to wear on Friday to Hollywood Studios. I saw some on zazzle and really loved them, but was afraid we wouldn't get them before we left. hoping I can get some made there and was just wondering if anybody had been in lately and knew if they had wreck it ralph options for shirts. thanks for any info!

and, I did make one ADR change. I canceled our chef mickey breakfast and switched it out for breakfast at tusker house our first morning. I'm excited to try something new AND hoping that we'll get to be some of the first out to see the safari after we eat. our reservation is at 8:10, and we have a FP for the safari for 9-10.

I also edited some of our character meets. I had us meeting mickey several times and meeting some characters again that we will see at character meals. my DH doesn't mind meeting characters with the kids, but if I can limit it to meeting each character only once, he's much happier. and keeping everyone happy makes mommy happy! plus, it gives us more time for doing rides and other things, which everyone always likes.

now, if these last 6 days would just go faster!

your daughter obviously has awesome taste! we saw wreck it ralph in the theater and liked it a lot, then sort of forgot about it. I found it at the library one day and checked it out and we were hooked! the girls really love it (they go around all the time saying "rootin', tootin', ready for shootin'!" and "no cuts, no buts, no coconuts!") and I just can't believe how great it is! I could probably watch it everyday!

happy new year!!.....we are only 5 days away! I can't believe it! I went today and got some Disney nails! mickey red and some pixie dust!



tomorrow we're not doing anything. my DH's family has a tradition/superstition where you can't do any cleaning because it's bad luck, so we always just veg out and relax. I think we might have some sort of Disney movie marathon and play some of the games the girls got for Christmas.

the rest of the week is cleaning the house, packing bags, and getting ready to go!!

The bags are packed, the house is clean, and we are ready to go. Tomorrow I'm going to get a facial and pedicure, get a couple last minute things and watch the clock! it's supposed to snow and get sort of bad here on Sunday so I'm glad we're leaving early in the morning!
