first trip do-over, the TR: or.....sorry, i got stuck in a tour group! UPDATED 3-14

sorry--over the picture limit

day 3/part 2b

we were headed this way.....

i hadn't planned on meeting merida because we waited 45 minutes last time and it really drove me nuts to wait that long to meet a character. however, we were walking by and her line was super short, so we hopped in. it worked out great because i think rich wanted to use the restroom and find something warm to drink anyway. the line moved pretty quickly and merida was nice, but not as awesome as last time we met her. hannah really did enjoy shooting the bow and arrow afterwards!

after we met merida, the girls wanted to look at the dolls. madison ended up getting a merida doll and hannah got a bow and arrow set. we had them sent back to the resort so we didn't have to carry them around all day. another plus for staying on site!

**side note....this was a common sight in our room for the rest of the week

notice the arrows stuck to the mirror. that was the target of choice since the arrows stuck so well. also, you could regularly hear one of us yell "we said don't point it at anyone's face, hannah!" (notice where she's pointing it in the picture? straight at my face.......oh our kids are excellent listeners...)**

after our shopping was done, we decided to head over to meet peter. unfortunately, his line was already closed when we got there (he meets right across from rapunzel's bathrooms, just past the exit of his ride, in case anyone needs that info) but the CM told us that if we came for the next m&g, he'd be out with wendy. pixie dust! we decided to go use our fast pass to meet princesses instead.

we had a fast pass for 11-12 to meet rapunzel and one friend. the other meet was cinderella and one friend (which turned out to be aurora). i'd picked rapunzel since i knew we'd see cinderella at 1900 park fare. we parked our stroller and got in the fast pass line, and.....maddie needed to go potty. oh, the many potty breaks on this trip.....so, out of line for us. we found a bathroom pretty quickly and were back in line soon.

we didn't wait long at all and were soon in the room. the family in front of us was pretty large, but going pretty quickly, until they asked their youngest son to come get in the picture. he just was not feeling a princess meet that day. he kept hiding his head and turning his back to them. at one point, he even put himself in the corner and wouldn't look at anyone. i felt bad for him, but at the same time, it was pretty funny. rapunzel tried to talk him out, but not even a princess was winning him over. finally a CM told him he didn't have to meet anyone, but he did have to walk with the CM over to the other end of the room and help him keep the families moving. that seemed like a good idea to the little boy and he moved over to the other side with his family, but i'm pretty sure he did NOT get in any pictures.

anyway, it was our turn next. the girls had taken off their jackets because they wanted to show the princesses their princess outfits. rapunzel called them princess hannah and princess madison and the girls were so excited that she knew their names! (i didn't tell them it was because their names were on their shirts) of course, rapunzel loved their skirts. she had them twirl around for her, then had to do some twirling herself!

she was super nice and the girls really liked her.

next up was snow white. i was glad because i had heard her line at epcot (the other place we were going to try to meet her) can get long quickly. she had the voice right on, but seemed a little uncomfortable? with the kids. maybe she was kind of new or something, but something seemed a little off about her. the girls still liked meeting her though.

on our way out, madison looked into the other side, and saw the aurora meet. she wanted to go over there and couldn't understand why we weren't meeting aurora too. a small melt down started and we decided that now was the perfect time for some lunch!

Wow!! What an awesome morning so far!!
I see that FP+ really is ruining your life ;) lol

And it seems like your girls are at such a perfect age for Disney world!! I love how Hannah is always so excited and giving a big squishy hug to all the characters. So cute!

Love these updates! So many awesome character pics! Seems like you got sprinkled with lots of pixie dust too :) How awesome that they let you stay on the teacups and keep riding!

Oh my gosh its like rapid fire updates!
So much to comment on!

Your CP breakfast looks awesome! I always think about that one but end up not doing it. I was seriously considering it for this trip, but we will see what I end up with.

It was so funny when the lady and father picked Rich to be the hero of the day, thats awesome!

Three times on the tea cups? That is awesome! I love the tea cups. We skipped Winnie the Pooh last time, but I totally want to be sure to do that next time.

Love the Rapunzel and Merida meets! I really hope Charlotte enjoys the face characters more next time. She has become a huge "Punzel" fan. She wears her Rapunzel dress every time it is clean and she wears her Rapunzel shoes and crown everywhere she goes. I am pretty sure she is in love with Flynn, when he comes on the movie she screams "There's Flynn, Flynn!"

You can really tell in all of your pics that your girls are really having a great time! I love it! Oh and those outfits are tutu cute!:rotfl: I crack myself up!

You guys had a great morning so far!

WOWZA!!!!! SO MANY MEET & GREETS!!!!

That is amazing!! You havent even been there that long and already met soooo many characters! And rode so many lines! Pixie dust FOR SURE!! pixiedust:

How awesome! I am loving it all....waiting to hear more! :listen:

The girls' outfits are sooo cute!! Did you make the skirts? If so I'd love to know how....my 4 y/o is OBSESSED with tutus. I have made a ton with tulle which are great until they need to be washed...they just never seem to be the same! :confused3

Great day so far, besides being cold....I don't know what is going on with winter this year

Ahhhh I just got here and I have missed so much! I am reading backwards and it looks like you guys had a lot of pixie dust! Shame about the MK photographer, I like the hat though! Of course I ea annoyed DH wouldn't take his sweat jacket odd last time (it was May!).

Look forward to reading more!

Cute traveling dresses!!!

The room is so pretty!!!

Do you remember what the photo fancy shmancy app was? I'm planning to only use my phone on our next trip. It takes better pics than my point and shoot camera most of the time anyway...and my DSLR is too heavy to carry around a park all day! :P

I see 7 dwarfs in the legos..Snow is kissing Dopey's head and then the other 6 are in your second pic

Going to DTD on our first evening is my plan for this next trip. I'm glad to see it went well for you. Did you feel sad to not go to a park or was it fine and just a nice relaxing afternoon?

I love Hannah's tigger sweatshirt! :D

thanks! i made them for our last trip and since they still fit had them wear them again for this trip. i have a skirt that matches, but i wasn't about to wear a skirt on the day we left.

LOVED those royal rooms at POR. so glad we could afford to try it out!

here's a link to the article i found about things to do with your iphone camera. i was looking at camera genius or camera awesome (that one is free). i never ended up trying either of them, but i wanted to. if you do, let me know what you think.

you're right--i wasn't counting dopey with snow white!

we got Hannah that tigger sweatshirt last year when we went. i was surprised it still fit, but she was excited to wear it to see tigger!

i was fine with not going to a park our first day because we've never gone to a park on our first day. usually we take a later flight, and by the time we'd get to our hotel, we were too tired. last time we went, we went to dinner at chef mickey and then did the pirate fireworks show, so no park that day either. i just never plan a park for that day because i never know if we'll really be able to enjoy it or just be too cranky from traveling. i really liked going to DTD this time though. that may be our new tradition.

I love the way your caricature came out!

Funny that you say your feet were killing you becuase I was going to comment on how I liked your sneakers! haha

thanks--my DH loves getting those. we actually have one of just the two of us from almost exactly 10 years ago. we're going to hang them together.

you know, i love those shoes, especially the funky color! i wear them all the time here, but that's just not the same as wearing them when you're on your feet all day at Disney. i think if i could have found some inserts and would have taken some Tylenol as soon as my feet started to hurt, i would have had a way better first couple of days. live and learn, right?

I followed over from Imbri's report! I am loving yours! You are near us- we are Chicago.. and also VERY tired of the weather!!!

I got all caught up! I love the Royal Room & all those cute touches. Someday I will stay there!!!

We did T-Rex during our November trip- mostly because my middle DD is a HUGE Dino fan. We enjoyed it.

Loving your matching shirts as well- where did you get them? I havn't found matching shirts like that for a few years. Did Disney Store bring them back? I would love to get some for our Cruise in June....

1900 Park Faire holds some of my favorite memories of Disney. Actually, my all time favorite when my oldest DD was 3 & obsessed with Cinderella. Cinderella danced with her special in the middle of the room & it meant the world to my DD. I still tear up when I think of that moment! :lovestruc

It also has great interaction with Lady Tremaine and sisters.. along with that Strawberry Soup. YUM. :thumbsup2

Looking forward to following along to the rest of your trip!

i just had a whole response typed to you and then my DH talked to me and i deleted it! man....

first--:welcome: thanks for coming over!

we were in Chicago last November! we had fun, but it was freezing and rainy then too. what's with this weather? i am so over winter! ::yes::

anyway, let me try to remember what i said. shirts--i got them on sale on disneystore.com at the end of last summer. maybe they were discontinuing them? most of the shirts we wore, i made with iron ons. have you checked into that? i got ours from www.missmorgandesigns.com she's on etsy, but if you go to her website she has more choices and glitter colors. i'm pretty sure she had some cruise stuff, but i looked at so many websites i could be confused. anyway, her's are pretty reasonable, good quality and easy to use.

p.s. i'm excited to hear about your cruise! we're doing one with friends in 2015. do you have a ptr going?

awww...dancing with Cinderella. don't you just love those memories? and that strawberry soup....there must be a recipe somewhere....yummmmm!

Great update! :)

thanks for reading!

Aww I can see Maddie's little outfit!! It IS so cute! And would have looked adorable in front of the castle. You're so nice. I probably would have made Caden take off his jacket for 1 fast picture. Lol

Wow!! What an awesome morning so far!!
I see that FP+ really is ruining your life ;) lol

And it seems like your girls are at such a perfect age for Disney world!! I love how Hannah is always so excited and giving a big squishy hug to all the characters. So cute!

i really thought about making them take a picture really quick, but knowing my family, one of two things would have happened. 1)i would have gotten the girls to take their jackets off and DH would have flat out refused to take his off and then, what would be the point? or 2)i would have gotten the girls jackets off and they would have had pouty faces in the pictures because they were freezing and again, what would be the point? i am thinking about taking those outfits again for our next trip and trying to get a picture then.

i know, right? i was so worried about FP+ and ended up loving it! sometimes i need to remind myself to stop worrying about stuff so much...

oh my gosh--while maddie is still uncomfortable around some of the characters, Hannah can not get enough! she loves them all and usually, whichever one we just saw, she will declare them her favorite! :rotfl: i love how excited she gets though! and i love how Madison gets so mesmerized by it all. it is a great time to go.

Love these updates! So many awesome character pics! Seems like you got sprinkled with lots of pixie dust too :) How awesome that they let you stay on the teacups and keep riding!

i know! the first time, we got off and asked if we could just go again and they said sure. the second time we didn't even leave our cup and they let us stay. i'm sure we could have gone again because there were empty cups, but i didn't want our pixie dust to run out! we were having such a great time!!!

Oh my gosh its like rapid fire updates!

i know...i'm so excited to share everything with everybody! plus, i took zero notes and don't want to forget anything. i have everything pretty much written up now, so i'm going to try to slow down! :rotfl:

you should definitely try CP. we've had breakfast and dinner there and loved it both times.

i don't blame charlotte for liking Flynn! maddie thinks he's pretty awesome too and, i'll just be honest, if we ever got the chance to meet him, i'd probably get in that picture too! :rotfl2:

tutu cute--you're so funny! i loved them, but i'm sort of over making them. what a process!

we did have a great time! i don't know why this trip was different from our last one, but it seemed way more relaxed and fun. it was awesome!

WOWZA!!!!! SO MANY MEET & GREETS!!!!

Great day so far, besides being cold....I don't know what is going on with winter this year

yes, i did make their skirts. i haven't washed them in a washer though (just spot washed, or lightly handwashed and hung to dry). i followed these directions and ordered the chiffon from the site she suggests. they aren't hard, but they are very time consuming. but, it's worth it when you see how cute they are on!

i know...this weather can go any time!

Ahhhh I just got here and I have missed so much! I am reading backwards and it looks like you guys had a lot of pixie dust! Shame about the MK photographer, I like the hat though! Of course I ea annoyed DH wouldn't take his sweat jacket odd last time (it was May!).

what's wrong with these guys? don't they know they are ruining our carefully planned and organized outfit choices? :lmao: i just figured it was an accurate representation of how we were feeling that day--too cold for florida! i am positive that is the one and only time in all my trips that i have worn jeans at Disney. thank goodness i threw them in at the last minute or i would have been a lot colder!

i know--i am so excited to share everything! mostly because i didn't take any notes and don't want to forget stuff. but, i have things all written out now, so i'm going to slow down. you'll have plenty of time to catch up! i'm glad you're back!!! just for you--not so random smilie--this is actually what i look like this morning! :surfweb:

Aw your picture of the castle first thing in the morning brought a little tear to my eye! I miss it so much! And its a beautiful photo.

Breakfast at Crystal Palace looks yummy! I cant wait to have kids and enjoy some of these character meals. We are just not into the price for two lone adults. We like the characters, but not that much! But to get to see kids interact with them, that would be so worth it.

Yay for getting to see the Sword in the Stone show! Ive never seen it in person, it looks so cute!

You must have an iron stomach, to ride the tea cups three times in a row! Once is more than enough for me, and if DH turns that wheel he is in big trouble.

Your Rapunzel M&G sounds lovely. She was so good when I met her too, shes a great character. Snow White was meh for me too, but I suspect shes a little put out because most people just want to meet Rapunzel when after all, Snow White was the very first princess! :)

A few updates behind so please excuse the long comments ....

aw, sorry about the tears after the Dinosaur! gift shop - though glad it turned to laughs soon enough (never underestimate the power of a wet tushie!). I can definitely identify with Rich - I think most guys in their nature want to "fix" things and when there is nothing apparent we can do to "fix" a situation we kinda freeze up and get a deer in the headlights look.

Sounds like fun interaction with Lady Tremaine, Drizella and Anastasia! My daughter is the exact opposite of Madison - wants nothing to do with the villains and basically won't watch any movies b/c of that. We saw them across the way in the Magic Kingdom and she buried her face and wouldn't even look at them.

Sorry it was so cold - that is always a bummer when you go to Florida and don't get at least warm weather. Double bummer that you didn't get to see the cute outfits in the pictures. Triple bummer about the crocked photopass pics - maybe he was trying to be artistic or something? :confused3

Sucks about that rude person. Wish everyone would live by the rule that "yes, you are on your vacation and want it to be great, but so is everyone else there and you don't have to lower others to raise yourself up"

That is a funny picture of the girls eating - has that look of "really, you are taking a picture before I get my morning coffee?"

The puffed French Toast is amazing ... one of the main reasons we always do breakfast ADRs there instead of the castle (well, that and the fact CP is 1/2 the price)

Ah, you got your pic of the Cinderella fountain at the right angle so it looks like the cown in the background is on her head!

That's so sweet with Repunzel calling them by their tame and twirling with them!

yeah for shor tlines - you got so much done that morning!

love reading you trip report so far, looks like you guys have had lots of fun! cant wait to hear about your other days :)

I love that picture too--I have it saved on my phone and look at it all the time!

the sword in the stone show was so cute! and the little girl who pulled the sword out couldn't have looked more surprised--it was great!

the spinning doesn't bother me, but I always worry the girls will get sick, and DH always spins the bejeebers out of the cup. thankfully they just scream and throw their hands up and love it. no ones gotten sick yet--fingers crossed it stays that way!

lol!! :rotfl2: i'm sure you're right! poor snow white--started it all and gets shoved to the back burner by a girl who needs a haircut! I like all the classic movies, but I have to say I enjoy the newer ones, where the princesses don't rely on some guy to do all the saving, a little better.

we were cold, for sure, but we really tried not to complain too much. at home, there was about a foot of snow and arctic temps, so 40 degrees and some wind was pretty nice. surprising for us while in florida, but way better than home!

i'm always confused by people who are grumpy on vacation. we have our moments too, but just amongst ourselves. but, i mean, you're on vacation...how bad can it really be? :confused3

we really love CP for breakfast. it seems like we always get seated quickly, the characters are fun and the food is always delicious! i love the picture of the girls eating--Hannah's crooked crown and maddie's crazy face....so silly! those are my favorite kinds of vacation pics!

i remembered reading somewhere about the crown, so even though it was freezing back there, i tried to line it up. that fountain is really very pretty--we've always walked by and never really looked at it. i like it!

we were having a great morning! so much pixie dust to start the day!

love reading you trip report so far, looks like you guys have had lots of fun! cant wait to hear about your other days :)

hello! :flower3: thanks for reading along! i'm glad you like it so far. we were having such a better trip this time! not having to fight crowds all over the place really made a huge difference for us this trip. January is a great month to go!

Spinning NEVER bothered me until I turned 26 or 27-ish. So hopefully your girls will have a long time before it bothers them too, especially if it doesn't bother you!

Haha I agree, I love the old movies because they remind me of when I first saw them as a small child and the awe of the Disney magic, but the later heroines are just the best, especially Tiana and Rapunzel.

i just had a whole response typed to you and then my DH talked to me and i deleted it! man....

Thanks for the link for the shirts- gonna check it out! Love me some matching shirts for my girls (although my eldest is starting to hate it- she's almost 12) :)

I don't have a cruise PTR going. I am trying to get through my November DisneyWorld TR and that will probably take me right up to when I leave for my cruise! :)

And I absolutely LOVE the princess pictures with your girls. So, so sweet! I also love the bow & arrow. I have a tomboy who happens to LOVE bow and arrows! So this makes me smile!

LOVE Tiana and Rapunzel! there was a time that we basically had tangled playing on repeat for Madison. she just couldn't get enough! have you ever seen ever after with drew Barrymore? not a Disney princess movie, but that is by far my favorite version of Cinderella ever! so good! I believe I have it on VHS somewhere. :rotfl:

I like the matching shirts too! my DH--not so much (uniforms? come on, babe! it wasn't that bad! ). thankfully he was a good sport on this trip! I don't want to even think about when the girls are old enough to veto my clothing choices--hopefully Madison (our girly girl) will still dress up with me!

i'm going over to check out your TR!!

Ooo, I like those shirts.

Are they iron ons that she sends, or print outs that you have to do yourself?

Ooo, I like those shirts.

Are they iron ons that she sends, or print outs that you have to do yourself?

they are iron ons she makes somehow and then you peel off the paper they come on and iron on. if they have multiple colors, they come in pieces and you put it all together on your shirt and iron it. I've washed our shirts a few times and they still look great. i'm really happy with them!

I LOVE Ever After! It's such a great movie and a wonderful version of Cinderella! You should get it on DVD, I got it a couple of years ago SO cheap from Amazon. Like $6 or $7 I think.

Yikes! I go away to Disneyland for a few days, and you have updated like a crazy person! Now to catch up…..

Super-cute PP pics from AK!!!

How exciting that you may have a September anniversary trip! :woohoo: We used to go in October, and it was such a wonderful time to go as far as crowds and weather. And MNSSHP is the BEST! :woohoo:

Hurray for EE!!! And you know we are big fans of Puffball!

Ah, Disney melt-downs - I wish I was less familiar with them. :rolleyes2

Love the family caricature - what a great idea!

Sounds like y’all had a blast at 1900! :woohoo: You really got some wonderful pictures.

Sorry about the cold. Yikes! Love the Tink magic shot though.

Looks like y’all had a great time at CP. That place is just so much fun!!! :woohoo:

You really lucked out with the fairies. That is one of my most dreaded Disney lines. Plus, you got to meet Periwinkle! Willow would pass out from the jealousy….

Awww - we love meeting the Fairy Godmother; she’s always great!

Wow - the sword show thing sounds like so much fun! It is so worth it to stop and make time for those little moments that only happen at Disney. How cool that Rich got picked to participate!

Looks like an awesome Fantasyland time and good meet with Merida as well. Willow still loves that bow and arrow set as do her friends.

This is the first time I’ve seen pics of the new princess greet area at WDW. Looks like it is done the same way as the one at DLR (except for choosing two princesses - at DLR, it is whatever 3 are meeting, but there is no FP+ there). I love the look of the place so much better than when they were meeting at the Town Square Theater - the lighting is so much better!
