first trip as dvc members 08

I am trying to keep everyone posted on this process because ya'll have been truly incredible and supportive. My family is still rather blown away by the general enthusiasm for our funny story.

I just finished the first revisions since my editor gave my script back to me. I was very encouraged because she said it was exceptionally well written with strong characters and that it was the easiest editing job that she has ever had. I think this is a good sign.

I have e-mailed the revisions to her, so I will wait to see if she has anything else to suggest. However, I think what I have at this point is very close to how it will be for publication (assuming I get that far).

Some people on this board have been EXTRA helpful. I now have some leads on figuring out the trademark laws that Disney must have . . . thanks to my incredibly supportive listmates here on the Disboards. I even have a fellow Diser who may provide illustrations for it:artist: .

My dedication for the book will be to fellow Diser, Meg Veg, who was the first person to see my trip report as something more than a trip report. But I think at this point I am going to also have to acknowledge this online Disney community in general because I would not have been motivated to stick through this process without ya'll.:grouphug: I certainly feel like this has become a team effort.

So thanks to EVERYONE!! I will update again when there is a new development.

great trip report...is there anymore, I left off at High School Musical on the beach of the Contempory...please let me know if this continues or if i just have to wait til the book is complete..

Well, the book is complete. I am waiting on word from my editor to see if she has anymore revisions that she suggests.

After that, I am going to look for a publisher. You'll have to wait until then because some publishers will refuse to publish it if the whole thing is already up on the net.

However, if you click on the link in my name, you will find the new introduction and another excerpt. Enjoy! :surfweb:

I will let everyone know when this thing gets published. I promise!:flower3:

Just wanted to let you know that I had my hubby read parts of your story and he is hooked, too!! He started laughing as he was reading it and turned to me and said, "she must be your long lost twin!!"

Have a wonderful day!

Hey NDM#2!

Thanks for the "boo". I can't get those things to work for some reason:badpc: , but I credited you in my signature.

I'm so thrilled that your hubby likes the story so far (was he responding to the NDM 10 commandments?). I'm simply itching to get this thing "out" to everyone, and I hope that when I do it makes other people laugh as much as my family does when we read it. I think the end is pretty good too. Not everyone will react this way, but--as a NDM--the ending is touching and sometimes it makes me cry. I hate that I have to wait on this!

popcorn:: Can't wait to read your book!. Her some pixiedust: that you find a publisher. We are waiting to read more of your adventure.

Here is an update . . . the editor loved the first revisions and sent me back the manuscript with just a couple more suggestions. I need to work on those "second revisions" but it has been put on hold temporarily. I have a speaking engagement at a women's retreat in a few weeks and really need to concentrate on preparing for that. When that has passed (first weekend in October), I will work on those revisions and send them back to the editor. She said that the manuscript is so close to being done, loves the story and thinks that I will have the "green light" after this next round of refining.

Also, I am now making some illustrations. Tinkbutt helped me by asking me questions that formed ideas and also sent me some sketches. With that I started some cartoony illustrations to go with the story. The editor has seen most of them and loves them too. She thinks they will greatly enhance the story. I hope she is right.

This has become such a project. To think that it started as a simple trip report . . . look what you got me into, MegVeg! This is beginning to resemble pregnancy. The process is stretching on throughout eternity. Hopefully, I will give birth to a beautiful best seller . . . well, at least a cult classic;) .

See ya on facebook!
