first trip as dvc members 08

Every installment of your TR brings me right back to Disney I absolutely love it! I'm so glad I followed your link when you called out to my friend Katie (tinkbutt). I'm so excited to be following along! Your decription of the boat ride brought me right back to sailing from the Poly to MK with DBF and all I could do was smile! Thank you for bringing Disney to MA for me!

I hope your DD is feelign better. Being sick is no fun. I was 'sick' the past two weeks with poison ivy, and an emergency rush to the hospital for a panic attack, I've been feeling crummy because of the medication they've given me. But I'll start to feel better soon and hopefully your DD will too!:flower3:

I am a little anxious about having to make this drive because I know that DH will not be much help when I get too tired to drive. He is incapable of driving for more than an hour or two at a time. He gets road hypnosis or something and goes right to sleep. It scares the crap out of me since he could kill us all.

Your DH and my DH have this in common...I'm subscribed! I'm almost have through your Day 1. Keep it coming!!!!

Plus, you're first year DVCers so this thread has got my attention!

Hi ---- Still following along ...... however, we leave in TWO DAYS  so I will be absent for a while ........ but, I shall return to pick up where I leave off ......

But, I must say ..... "Bless your heart" that you thought it would be COOL in FL in late May! I love the episode - had a great mental image of your DD3 bright red and sweating profusely..... but still hanging on with NDM to make it to the show! :lmao:

Sending some pixiedust: pixiedust: pixiedust: to DD3 in hopes she will return to full health soon! :thumbsup2
I sure would love to see at least one more installment before we leave on Thursday ..... :rolleyes1

Have been sitting in bed this morning making my hubby read this with me and we are both chortling like baboons.

Very funny

Hi all.

I have day 4 written, but this is taking a while. So much happened in our days, and as a mom of 3 kids with a medical condition that is also working, it is taking some time for me to get this stuff down.

Also, I think I may try to write all of our days before I post anymore because I keep rereading stuff, remembering things that I omitted, changing my wording, etc. I think if I write it all out and then edit it before posting, ya'll will enjoy it more.

So keep me subscribed. Then you can be notified when the rest of story is finally put down.

Megveg and my other True Confessions readers,

I have diligently been working on my trip report, and it has definitely evolved into a book. So far it is 44 pages long, and I can see that it will easily become 75-100 pg. before I am done with it.

The whole thing (even the beginning that you have already read) is better than when I first posted because as I continue to write, I remember more details and happenings. I have been going back as my memories return and adding them to the story.

I have also "tested" out my story with my non-Disney friends to see if it has appeal beyond my fellow NDM (neurotic, Disney moms). And -- surprisingly -- it does. They, too, are begging me to finish my "book" so that they can read more about my family's crazy adventures even though they don't have much interest in Disney.

I am not sure what I will do with this when I am done. I am considering the idea of trying to get it published. I am also considering making it into a blog spot. Basically, I am trying to find out if there is any way I can have this thing turn over some money to help me pay off my DVC debt. I have even wondered about just e-mailing it to individuals who want to mail me a few dollars for it. I just don't know as I haven't ever attempted anything like this before.

I would appreciate any opinions about the direction of this. Has anyone out there ever had experience with making a few bucks from blogging or an e-book? Is there some kind of contest that I could enter that would allow me to keep my copyright?

Regardless, of what this becomes, I also wanted to start a list of people who are interested in reading my story when it is done. That way, whether I post it for free or get my story on a bookstore shelf, I can let you know it is available.

P.S. Megveg, I am still dedicating my story to you since you were the first one to suggest this was more than a trip report. When I am through, let me know if you want the dedication to be to "Megveg" or your real name.

Well, sign me up and add me to the list of happy readers!!

I can not begin to tell you how much I am enjoying reading about your fabulous first trip as DVC members. DH and I also stayed at VWL for our first DVC stay and has such a special place in our hearts that we are thinking of buying a few points there.

Please make sure to let me know when the rest of your wonderful story is available -- free or otherwise!!

Have a magical day!

Bellazachmom,

You are now officially christened and henceforth shall be known as NDM#2pixiedust: . We are a rare and beautiful breed . . . delicate in nature and completely worth all of the high maintenance we require.

I know I am not the only NDM, I just claim to be the original. Would anyone else like to be officially christened? Maybe we should start a club.

Thank You!! I shall wear the name proudly and try and live up to all expectations of the name.

OH MY GOD, I just started reading your trip report and started laughing my head off. You must be my wifes twin. She would have been the same way as you upon hearing that your HS friends child was sick. Can we say germaphobic? Then when I read your profile, and realized you two are too much alike.:rotfl: I'm looking forward to reading more of your report and finding out more about your thoughts on the DVC resort.
