First Trip (as adults) 6/14 - 6/21 CBR w/DLX Dining

Looking forward in reading the rest of your trip report. Your daughter is so very cute. My Gracie wants to wear hers when we visit the MK.:cutie:

Thank you. She only wore her dress for the princess meals, and then we put it back in the back pack. It was just way too hot to walk around all day in a formal dress.

We got back to the resort and had a few hours to relax before we were going to the polynesian. The girls laid down in the room for a few minutes while I went up to refill our mugs. When I got back DD wanted to go to the blue pool. (which was in the next area down from us) Went swimming for awhile, then the girls went up to Port Royale to look around the shop. Went back to the room and got ready.

Bus to MK was only a couple minute wait, and we were the last stop, so we got to MK quickly. We decided to take the boat from MK since we had already done the monorail a couple times. Boat ride was nice and relaxing and stopped by the GF on the way to Poly. Very nice scenery.

Since transportation was so quick, we were at the resort around 45 min early for the show. But, they checked us in, gave us leis, and took our picture (for another $31 photo package). And soon we walked back to the area just outside of the theator.

Since we still had about 30 min or so before we got seated, I decided to break down and spend $6 on a cold adult beverage. DD met another little girl to talk to while we were waiting, so everyone was happy.

Since we were using the dining plan, we had to get category 2 or 3 seating, so I figured our seates wouldn't be that good. But, our seats were actually excellent, just not on the floor.

The meal was great. Ribs, chicken, stir fry veggies over rice. This was served family style, and brought more whenever we wanted. I was not overly fond of the salad that was served, but DW loved it. DD didn't really like anything they had except for the veggies, so she filled up on that.
Oh, and did I mention, unlimited beer and wine. I had bud light, and DW ordered a glass of wine. She really didn't like the wine, so it just kinda set there. We never ran out of drinks, and at last call the server offered to bring DW a bud light instead of wine (good for me!) I would definitely reccomend this to anyone. Themed for adults, but enough for kids to have fun also. Cost of this excursion was 141.97 including tip.

The show let out just as the fireworks were starting at MK, so we walked right down to the beach and watched them. We caught the monorail back to MK, and a bus back to the resort. It must have been EMH at MK because there was really no wait for the bus, and it was not that crowded. DD was whipped and fell asleep on the bus.

Another day complete. Got the girls to bed, and went to hang out for a while at the DSA.

Up next, Playhouse Disney Breakfast, HSM 3, and Hoop-di-doo

Ahh, a day to sleep in. 9:45 Playhouse Disney breakfast, so the girls slept until about 8:30. I was up around 7:30, so walked up for coffee. I had read alot of complaints about the size of CBR, but until now it didn't seem that bad. This felt like a looooong walk this morning! Stopped at the DSA and was talking to a lady who had flew in the night of the big storm. I guess that was a real mess, they got diverted to Tampa (I think), and didn't get to orlando for many hours after they were supposed to. They had alot of issues with ME since they were so late, and had trouble getting their luggage. But all worked out for them, and they were getting ready to start their day. After I got the girls ready, we headed out for HS.

The bus stop was not crowded since we weren't trying to get there first thing in the morning. And it took about 15 min for a bus.

When we got to the park, we got a pic taken for our photopass cd, and headed for breakfast at Hollywood & Vine.

P6170107.jpg

This was and interesting breakfast because I had no idea who most of the character were. DD knew most of them, but was most excited about JOJO. During breakfast, the characters all came around, and about every 15 min they had the kids come up to sing and dance. DD went up the first time and came back and said "that was so embarasing"! But she contiued to go up everytime!

The meal was a good simple breakfast buffet. The mickey waffles were a big hit with DD, I'll bet she ate 6 of them! Once again, everything was fresh, and hot. I don't think we had any stale food at any of the buffets we went to, which is amazing as most places you need to either go when they are extremely crowded or first open to get any good buffet food. Total cost for this breakfast was $73.46 plus tip.

TIP: Always ask for a drink to go. Our server told us that she could bring us a refill in a to-go cup. We done this at most of the restaraunts we went to and it saved buying a pop or water later.

After breakfast, we noticed that HSM 3 was going to start in about 15 min, so we headed down to find a seat. Got lucky and got a seat right up front. DD loved the show, but was disappointed she didn't get to dance with them.

P6170150.jpg

After that we decided to walk to the back side of the park to see what we missed monday. We watch the Toy Soldiers for about 2 min, DD was bored with it.

P6170152.jpg

When we were walking by Star Tours, and the wait was only posted at 10 min. But DD had to go potty, and during that 10 min, Indiana Jones let out, and Star Tours line went to 20 min. Oh well, we waited, and it was probably only 15 min. This was a neat attraction, DD was a little concerned, but we told her it was just like Mission to Mars, and she decided to go on it. She loved the ride and wanted to go again, but we told her we would come back and ride again later.

P6170157.jpg

We then walked back to check out Muppet 3D Vision. DD really didn't know that much about the muppets, but enjoyed the show anyway. My favorites are still the critics!

P6170165.jpg

We took a quick walk through New York. I told DW "there, I have taken you to NY." She has always wanted to go, but I have absolutely no desire to go to the real NY!

P6170172.jpg

Next we happened to stumble across Honey I Shrunk the Kids play area and went in to check it out. DD had a blast playing in there.

P6170181.jpg

P6170183.jpg

While walking back, the line for Star Tours was down to 10 min again, so we hopped on it. DD was really hoping they had found a better robot to drive this time! But to no avail, same crazy robot.

It was only about 20 min till the next Indiana Jones show, so we grabbed a couple lemonades ($7) and went in to watch the show. This was a very good show, DD didn't understand how they done alot of things and was hoping the spikes weren't real.

We had really got alot done this morning, so we decided to go back to the resort for a while. Bus seemed to take a little while today, but we got back in probably 40 min. We were glad we decided to leave when we did, about 20 min after we got to our room, another down-pour.

P6170193.jpg

We relaxed in the room for awhile, then I called the front desk to enquire if Hoop-di-doo would be cancled due to rain. They told me that it was indoors and would not be cancled. After the rain let up, me and DD walked up to port royal to refill our mugs, and get some ice cream ($4).

The rain finally stopped, and it looked like we might make it to Fort Wilderness without getting drenched again.

After a short break, we headed back to the bus stop to go to Ft. Wilderness. MK bus was there shortly, and we were off. We took a vote to see if we were going to take a boat, or another bus. It was still drizzling a little bit, but I was getting tired of busses, so we were going to take the boat. After arriving at MK, we were walking to the boat station, and the Wilderness Lodge bus was sitting there. Well, I guess we are taking the bus! Got off the bus, and asked one of the cast members where hoop-di-doo was. He replied that "I can tell you, but I don't think you are going to be happy." We had goofed up and went to the lodge not the campground. No big deal though, he told me they have a bus running from the lodge to the campground so we just waited a couple minutes for that. We were at the restaraunt about 30 min early like we were told, check-in, and wandered around the area for awhile. DD checked out the horses, and DW went over to the store. I decided to enjoy a cold beer ($6) and hang out with DD.

We got seated and our seats were very good again. We were on the balcony, but you could see everything and the seats rotated to view the show. Once again, unlimited draft beer, so I ordered BL, wife had a coke, and DD wanted a pink lemonade. The only way they served pink lemonade was in a sovenier tinkerbell copy with a lighted clip on thing for $6. We had been very good about conserving our spending cash, (not to mention I spent the same on a beer) so I bought her one of these. She really liked the lighted tink.

The meal started with a salad and cornbread. DD and myself love cornbread, so we ate alot of that. Dinner was bbq ribs and chicken with baked beans. DD really didn't like most of dinner, but she ate enough to be full. Desert was strawberry something. Once again the food was great, and the service was wonderful. And I don't remember being asked to buy a $30 photo package!

The show was good, but corny. DD was impressed when they put the spotlight on her, asked where she was from, and made a joke about it. But after they left it was "sooo embarasing!". All in all this was a good experiece, but if I could only do 1 dinner show it would definetly be the luah. Total price was $127.97 including tip.

After the show, we headed back to the bus stop. We really had no idea how we were going to get back to CBR, but figured we could always go back to MK. When we got there, one of the bus drivers asked us where we were going, and said to get in. He did not have a specific route, and was just picking up people from the show. This worked out great, it took us a little while to get back because we stopped at 1 other resort, but DD fell asleep again, so it was no big deal (except that by the time we got back the unlimited beer was catching up to me and I neeeeded a rest room!lol)

Got back and got the girls to bed, and headed down to the DSA to relax. My night buddy had left this morning, but there were a couple new guys down there that had just arrived this afternoon. They were with their whole family from all over the country.

Next up ... Boooo shopping, DTD, crystal palace, MK, and missed ADR.

The day I was dreading. Shopping at DTD in the morning. DW and DD were all excited and were out of bed and ready before me. Make sure the phones are charged and working because I am SURE we will get seperated today! I get ready and walk up to get some coffee. Then we head to the bus. Even though I hadn't seen alot of DTD busses, it only took a couple minutes before we were on our way. We sat with a nice mother and her DD's on the way there. Her girls shared their morning snack with my DD, she was having a blast. We started talking about what we had done so far, and somehow got onto the topic of planning the trip. I know this lady had to be a DIS'er because we had both done extreme amounts of planning. We got talking about snack credits on the dining plan, and that we hadn't used as many as we thought we should have. Told her that I didn't have my spreadsheet with me, but that Goofy's Candy Co. has alot of items that qualify as a snack. We were so busy talking, we just about missed our bus stop, but luckily her kids noticed it was time to get off the bus!

The one thing I was looking for today was Mickey Ears. Believe it or not, DD still had not made up her mind which ones she really wanted. So the Make Your Own Ears worked out great. After about 15 min of changing her mind and trying diffent patches, she finally got her ears ready for making. A little more expensive than regular ones, but not bad at around $20.

There were alot of cute pic opportunities while we were shopping.

P6180236.jpg

P6180237.jpg

The girls were in and out of shops, but really did not buy that much. DD found a stuffed Minnie that she really wanted and a tink coffe cup. DW found some magnets, and a mickey pancake mold (which I just used this morning!). While they were in the lego shop, I walked back to McDonalds to see if they were on the dining plan (not best use of credits, but DD would have loved it). They were not, so I didn't even say anything to the girls. I was getting a little hungry, and lunch was not until 2:45, so we waited in line a few minutes at T-Rex only to find out they were not on the dining plan also. But the hostess was really nice, and handed us a map with the dining plan restaraunts circled.
