First Timers...........

THIS IS A GREAT TIP FOR FIRST TIMERS (ME)! I BOUGHT MAPS OF ALL THE THEME PARKS FROM SOMEONE ON E-BAY. THEY HAD JUST GOTTEN BACK FROM THEIR TRIP AND WERE SELLING THE WHOLE SET OF THEIR MAPS AND ALSO SOME MENUS. I BOUGHT THEM FOR LIKE $2.50+S&H. THESE HAVE HELPED OUT SO MUCH! I ONLY HAD THE SMALL MAPS FROM MY FREE DISNEY PLANNING VIDEO. BUT THESE ARE VERY LARGE AND THEY EVEN SHOW THE LOCATIONS OF THE RESTAURANTS. I AM SO HAPPY! I'VE CHARTED OUR ROUTES IN THE PARKS AND WAS ABLE TO PICK RESTAURANTS NEAR THOSE LOCATIONS. I WAS WORRIED ABOUT PICKING A RESTAURANT BEFORE WE WENT AND THEN FINDING OUT WE HAD TO TREK MILES JUST TO GET TO IT. I'VE SEEN OTHER E-BAY AUCTIONS SELLING THESE MAPS AND I JUST THOUGHT I'D LET YOU FIRST TIMERS KNOW ABOUT THEM.

I'm not sure how you're getting around the World once you arrive, but why don't you check out this TRANSPORTATION GRID that shows you how to get from one place to another on the resort.

that would save me mapping out to/from
directions between the parks
and all the different ways around the World...

Tis my pleasure! I'm always happy to help a Disney newbie. I was one once and sure wish someone would have provided me with the info I now have. Of course, I didn't discover the DIS til almost 3 months before my trip and I just didn't ask the right questions.

I used that grid when DH and I were in Disney in 2001 and even though we had our car and drove everywhere, it was still a huge help in the long run.

For anyone who doesn't want to spend the money on maps, there are plenty that can be found online for free and, as already noted, ALL the WDW menus are available and kept up to date at allears. Personally, I wouldn't spend the money.
