First timers help please

Coming over from Australia for our first disney trip in october. We arrive at Dinsye on Friday 14th october until thursday the 20th. We will have 5 day park hoppers. do we skip the park friday and use our five days sat-wed? Or do a party friday night? (after we head to florida for a disney cruise and will be attending MNSSHP on the 31st there). Or do parks friday, sat, sun, tues and wed with a party on monday hopefully being less busy? Or no party at all and just go to character meal for tea friday night?
The parties are expensive so not sure if its worth doing one at DL and then the one at WDW?

Friday October 14th is a Party night and DL will close early. So everyone not attending the party will move over to DCA.


Are you staying onsite or off-site?
I'd go to the parks on Fri, Sat, Sun, Tues and Wed.
And go to a Party on Monday. You can rest up from the weekend and long hours in the parks. You can enter DL for the party at 3pm.

Can you get a 10 day Aussie hopper? From your local travel agencies.

Is the 14th the day you arrive in LA from Australia? If so that can influence your plans as you will get jet lag. You could get a 10 day Aussie pass from a travel agent here as suggested, they are usually not that much more than the 5 day hoppers... so it really doesn't matter than much if you don't use all 10 days it can just give you some more flexibility in when you can go to the park.

The 10 day pass is about $200 more then the 5 day so would rather not get that if we can avoid it. We come from LA on the 14th will have been in the US since the 5th october. We are staying at the best western plus Anaheim inn across the road.

I got the 10 day pass in order to avoid the weekends. It sounds as if they have gone up significantly in the past couple of years, I'm pretty sure it was only around $20 more pp to get the 10 day pass.
