I'm glad to hear you liked Flame Tree BBQ. I've been a bit timid to try it.

I'm really picky about BBQ, but if somebody from Birmingham liked it...I'll give it a shot.

I'm not crazy about Sunshine Seasons either.

Sometime...try the counter service in France. Yum!

P.S. I live in Montgomery, but grew up a little north of Jasper.

Hi everyone! Thanksfor joining in! I hope you are enjoying the reviews so far!!

Now on to Chef Mickey's:

We had 6:30 ADRs. There were a lot of people waiting but we were seated ahead of most of them. Maybe they didn't have ADRs, not sure?

Here's what the buffet looked like:

Notice there is no dressing (because there was no dressing at the bar for a long time)

I had this:

Too bad the food didn't taste as good as it looked! When I sat down with my first plate, I was excited because it looked so good. Nothing was really good, except the scalloped potatoes (they were excellent). The second plate I got wasn't any better. DH said his was ok. For my dessert plate, the Mickey domes were delicious!

DH said he loved the peel & eat shrimp. I loved the scalloped potatoes & Mickey domes.

To be honest, I was expecting more from this buffet. I had read good things about it. Not that I was expecting the food to be sensational but I was expecting something like Golden Corral maybe. This was not the case. However, the character interaction was great! So if you are going for character interaction only, then go!

I would not eat here again. I would try another character meal first & see if it is better.

I totally agree with you re: Chef Mickey's! The character interaction is great, but the food is pitiful! We will be going in April, just to let our friends/kids experience it for a 1st time. Not looking forward to it at all...
