DH and I are travelling in Feb to WDW with DD 5 and 2. We will have 7 full days. My question is as a first timer to WDW in your opinion will we have enough time to also visit the 2 universal parks?

IMHO, 7 days is NEVER enough time for all there is to do in Orlando, including WDW and US! lol How many of the Disney parks will you be going to? MK, Epcot, AK, etc?

We are here in Orlando right now, and got a 7-day pass for US and IA. We've been to US the past 3 days and still haven't seen everything! Yesterday we took the day to go to Epcot because DD9 has never been to Disney. Tomorrow it's back to IA! We haven't even seen that yet, except to only walk around & look at it today! lol

if you stay on site at universal, you should be fine.

i would think with a 2 year old, you would have to stop sometime in the day for a nap for the little.

i would imagine you wouldn't do epcot with the littles as so much walking and littles would probably be more excited with MK when you did disney.

at universal, plenty to do and you won't be able to cover it all if you are splitting your time between disney and universal.

read up on the parks websites and see what you would be interested in doing as a family. that should help you gauge how much time and days you want to spend in the parks.

Seven days won't be enough time to see it all. You would still be able to visit the 2 Universal parks but you'll have to pick and choose what you do. You'll probably be missing the "bigger" rides due the ages of the children which will give you a chance to see more of the other stuff.

FWIW, seven days wouldn't be enough time for 2 adults "going commando" to see all there is at WDW (let alone adding US and IOA). See what you want and leave the rest of the stuff for the next trip. :)

Agree - we've just been there for 3 weeks with DS's 4 & 9mths and we didn't do everything!!:lmao:

We went with the belief that UO was for the adults and Disney was for the children. WE were WRONG!! :goodvibes - UO was GREAT for the kids - so much more compact than WDW so it was so much more enjoyable for us and the children - we really were exhausted at Disney!!!

If it was me and I had a week - I'd stay at UO (FOTL access is great and its closer to walk/boat back to the hotel than to the parking lot!!!!) and I would take a day trip to MK for the little ones (ours didn't benefit much from Epcot or Animal kingdom - and they are a struggle to get round as both are so big!!) - we also liked MGM (or Hollywood Studios as its now known!!) and that had a good mix for the children too - they especially liked the Playhouse Disney show and the new toy story ride!!

hope that helps a little!!:thumbsup2 :thumbsup2

Thanks for the info. Amy if you read this did you do IOA at all with your kids or just UO?

Hi!! Sorry for the confusion - by UO I meant US and IOA - In fact IOA was actually our favourite of ALL the parks!! :thumbsup2

Having a four year old boy who loves Spiderman - we had an amazing Spidey character breakfast at Confisco Grille (food so,so but interaction amazing!!:goodvibes ) and luckily I bought him the Dr Seuss books for Christmas so that he was familiar with cat in the hat etc - and to be honest we could have spent all day at Seuss' Landing - it was fantastic!!::yes::

I honestly can't say enough positive things about Universal as a whole!!!:lovestruc

If we weren't travelling all the way from England we would try and come back this year or early next year and JUST do Universal - but as we aren't great flyers and the flight is so long we are going to do one MEGA trip in a couple of years so will do Disney as well, but I could easily spend a week (maybe a fortnight!!;) ) at UO and not leave the complex!!:worship: :worship:

Hope that helps a little!!!:thumbsup2 :thumbsup2
