First Timer Questions

Hello all,

We are going to WDW Sept 8-16th. I can make ADR's on June 10th.

Looking at the September 2008 hours of the parks, it seems they close at 9pm (except for AK @ 5pm)

We don't have park hopper passes - we have a 10 day base ticket

This is our trip template:

Day 1: MK (Whispering Canyon Dinner)
Day 2: MK (Crystal Palace Dinner)
Day 3: Epcot (San Angel Inn Dinner)
Day 4: AK (Boma Dinner)
Day 5: Studios (Mama Melrose Dinner)
Day 6: MK (Tony's Town Square Dinner)
Day 7: MK Crystal Palace Breakfast (Halloween Party and yes we're going)

What time would you make your Dinner ADR's for? The last seating possible so we can squeeze out the most time in our park?

Or what?

It's tough to say what the new park hours are since they've been changing them around a lot lately. And honestly with how crazy I've been hearing it's been to make ADRs, try not to be too set on a set time and just do 'dinner time range' and 'lunch time range'. I believe we had dinner at 8pm on some nights that the park closed at 9. Don't know how long before the park closes they seat the last tables though.

Also, don't get too stressed out about ADRs! It would be nice to get your first choice but it's not a trip breaker if you don't. Enjoy your first time and go with the flow!

Also remember that Wishes and Spectro are on near the end of the evening. If you book dinner at 8pm you would most likely miss them.

Illuminations is always at 9pm.

TS restaurants take a min of 1hr, I would plan on 1.5-2hrs depending on the TS.

I like to make my dinner ADRs for around 6PM. It gives me enough time to play in the parks but it also gives me enough time to go back to the hotel for a break and get back in time for dinner.

The only thing I would like to mention is Boma. If the park is closed you cant take the bus from AKL back to AK and then back to the resort. You will have to take the bus to DTD or the park with EMH to switch busses to your resort. Of course you always have the choice to call a cab which is reasonable and easy. This would be my choice after a Boma dinner.

We also like to make our ADRs around 6:00. That way we are done eating and can get back out to the park for the night shows. At DHS you could book the Fantasmic package at MM. Also, if you are only going for 7 days you do you need a 10 day ticket? The days you don't use will expire...you can't save them.

May I recommend the 1st day you switch from WCC to Liberty Tree Tavern or something else in the MK. Even though it is just a boat ride away travel could take 1 hour each way plus going back through security/ticket turnstiles.

Same with Boma. Is there a resturant in AK? I'm not to familiar with AK.
