First timer here ~ question on park hopper plus tickets

Hi all. This is my very first post on this board. I've been lurking for a couple of weeks and getting some good advice. My question is about the park hopper plus tickets.

We're planning on purchasing the 7 day park hopper plus tickets. Now, I know I get my choice of the 4 minor parks. Does that mean that from those 4 we get to choose just one and go only once or can we go as much as we want during the 7 days we use those tickets just like we do with the major parks? Can we choose all 4 or just one minor park?

Your help would be appreciated.

Hi Melissa and welcome to the Dis!

You can use all four parks(Blizzard Beach, Typhoon Lagoon, etc) as you wish, but only four times. There's lots of ways you can do it. If you go to MK in the morning, you can choose to use one of your four features to go to Blizzard Beach in the afternoon. Then, that evening you can go to Epcot. So in one day, you have used your park pass for MK and Epcot and used one of your features. Also, remember that if you do not use all of your 4 features at the end of your stay, do not throw away your pass! You can bring it back on another trip, the features never expire. Nor does the pass if you choose to just use it 5 or 6 days for example. Good luck and have a ball!

Thanks for clarifying. That helps a lot. There's no worry about the unused tickets. We're staying 11 nights so we get 10 full days of fun in Orlando. I'm sure we'll use every last bit of our tickets. Lol.

Hint: Try to visit the minor parks and use the plus features on days you do not visit a major theme park. This way you can use the 7 day pass on as many as 11 different days.

Also, Pleasure Island from time to time offers five more consecutive nights for five more dollars when you buy a single ticket. If you think you will visit PI more than once in quick succession and also think you will run out of plus features, and this "extra five night" promotion is in effect, use the plus features for the water parks and buy the separate ticket for PI.

Ok, I was wondering how in the heck did you get a picture of me in the yearbook! Too funny!

I'm now wondering if I should purchase a 5 or 6 day park hopper plus. I didn't know you could use each and every one of your plus passes for a different day. I was wanting to go to the Disney parks for 7 days and then have the 3 remaining days to go elsewhere in Orlando. I'm not sure I'm interested in Pleasure Island though. This is our family vacation and dh and I will have our 9 and 6 year olds with us so I don't see them getting much out of it.

I also read that Typhoon Lagoon is going to be closed this summer. Is that true? We're going the last part of July and we love water parks.
