The last time I was at WDW during F&G time, it was the last Sunday and I didn't know about the Butterfly House. I'll be there again this May and was wondering what the Butterfly House is like.
Are there a lot of them? Do they fly around you or are they behind protective screens? i.e. is there a possibility they will land on you? (not that I am scared of them, I think they're beautiful and wouldn't love to see them up close.)
No cages/screens/anything like that. It's an enclosed garden with butterflies flying about freely. Last year one landed on my friend's son's finger and stayed there for a good 5+ minutes! We got some great pictures. I think they tell you not to try and pick them up or manipulate them, which makes sense. I had some success luring one onto a leaf. But you will undoubtedly have some good opportunities for up-close encounters
