need help...we are going in august to disney through sw package.after booking they told me that its not a ticketless travel. that we can only get our boarding passes 4 hours before the flight.how does this work? with the A B C boarding.please help..

:wizard: :surfweb: This will be my first time on SWA too, Buffalionian living in Syracuse . Anyhow 24 hrs before your flight time you can go on their web site and get your bording passes.I recommend doing this SWA will give you a bording pass you can print on you computer or at their kiosk. There is no assigned seating and they call you up by sections A,B,C etc. With I guess "A "being the best section . Thats all the info I have but I'm sure the "SWA vets " will give us more info.

You will find a lot of info about this on the Canadian Trip Planning Board.

(Lots of Canadians fly SWA out of BUF)

I believe you can only checkin 24hrs before your flight with a tickeless ticket.
If you have a paper ticket you have to check in at the SW ticket counter to get your boarding pass. I know in the past that's what I had to do when I was issued a paper ticket.

GET TO THE AIRPORT EARLY. If the flight is overbooked the sequence number on your BP determines who gets bumped, assuming they don't get enough volunteers.

Can you handle getting C BPs? If not check, I think you can go to the airport and get BP, not sure if it's 24 hours in advance but it might be more than 4 hours.

We have booked a room for the night before as we fly out at 7 in the morning. my plan is to check online 24 hrs before to see if i can do it(not counting on that).if not when i get to buffalo go right to the airport to see if they will do it earlier than 4 hours. Again not holding my breath. I am thinking i will be up all night....

Just curious...if you are on the internet posting here, why did you not book your flight on Southwest? Plenty of time for fare sales and DING! fares between now and then.

she might have.....

but it was through swa vacations ...even if you do that online you get paper tickets

they do not issue ticketless since it is a package deal

We were planning on driving but this package came up and it was to good to turn down. Not knowing we would have this problem with boarding passes.I guess that the PRICE you pay for deals..

The A, B, and C are not sections. The letters are the order you board. First, they preboard. Then, they call the A group. All the A's board and get seats. Then B and C, in turn.

That really sucks that with the package you can't get your passes til 4 hours before?? You'd think they would let you do the 24 hours, since that would be a big deterrent to the package, at least as far as I would be concerned.

I am not sure what the situation for SW is in BUF. I have flown US Air and Continental, but never SW.

I would call SW and maybe mention that you would have reconsidered buying a package if you knew you were going to possibly be last on the plane and possibly have to split your party up.

For our trip, we bought DS1 a seat for his carseat, so we will preboard and don't have to worry. You don't happen to have a small child or lap baby coming with you???

Oh, I see..the package deal. I remember when SW was first doing the boarding pass deal at the kiosks, counter and, luggage check in...before internet BP printing...that they allowed a certain amount of BP's for each of the above check-in methods, so it was fair across the board. Good luck.
