Hi! I will be visiting the WDW resort for the very first time April 27th-29th and I have some questions regarding my visit.

My first question is regarding tickets. I will be visiting with my mom and I'm doing all the planning for her under the MDE app. I will be buying our resort/tickets and our park reservations in one sitting here in a few weeks. I know its possible, but I haven't really seen anyone explain how to transfer tickets from your MDE account into someone that your planning for's account. So if anyone could describe this process it would be great. :) (P.S) I am the one controlling my moms account on the MDE app, using the guest option.

My second question is regarding the time we are visiting. I want to be able to get a lot of things done in these couple days and was wondering if the time we will be visiting is a dead time for the parks. I was kind of figuring that it would be since it will be a couple weeks since spring break and Easter has passed, but I was still wondering.

Third and last question, Are they still requiring Magic Bands/Cards for entry to the parks? If so how do you get the cards/magic bands or are they provided when you buy the tickets?

Thank you!!

Does your mom already have an MDE?
If so you would want to link together in family and friends.
Basically one of you sends a request to the other and then the other goes into their email associated with their account and follows the link in the email to accept the request to plan together.
Then you should be able to see her in your MDE and select her when purchasing a ticket.
If she does not already have her own account you could just create her under your account and "manage" her. This feature is generally used for families that have kids but it can be used for any age.

You didn't really specify WHEN you're going.
To me "a couple weeks after Easter" leads me to believe mid/late April? If so that is GENERALLY a good time to visit crowd wise... pre-Covid that is.... It will likely still be a quieter time compared to Easter which I don't suspect is going to be as crazy as usual.

You'll need SOMETHING to enter the parks.
If you're staying onsite you'll have the opportunity to purchase magic bands at a discounted rate.
I believe you can also request a plastic ticket mailed to you at the time of purchase. (At least that was the case last time I purchased party tickets)
Or you could go to will call once you arrive to request a plastic ticket.
You could also purchase tickets from a third party... Although I've only ever done that option at my local AAA. It is nice to walk out holding a physical ticket lol.

I'm managing my moms plans with my personal MDE account. She's really not tech savvy so she doesn't understand apps and emails, so i'm going to have to do everything for her. So therefore I am the one controlling her account.

I will be visiting April 27th 2021 - April 29th 2021

So when I purchase me and my moms ticket, would I do that all together since she is a guest on my MDE account? and would we get two cards/magic bands in the mail if we do so?

You can choose to purchase magic bands, one for each guest. OR you can simply stop by the ticket booth before you enter your first park and ask for a plastic card that holds your ticket info and allows you to scan into the parks. Each person will receive their own plastic card, and that card will get you in for every day you have a ticket.

Your dates have you on the other side of spring break, so I'm guessing crowds will be lower. But you never really know. I visited once in the first few days of May -- crowds were very manageable and the weather was very warm yet not too humid. With COVID, who knows what crowds will look like, but you are in a sweet spot since most people will put off their visit until school is officially out if they didn't visit during their spring break.

Are you staying on-site?

From where are you buying tickets?

Since your mom is managed by you, it's pretty easy to do what you need to do. But there are a few things to clarify first.

Thank you for the card/band information! and I sure hope crowds are light :)

I will be staying at Pop Century and buying tickets from the official Disney World site.

So, either when you call or you book online through Disney's website, it will have you choose your party. Since you manage your mom, you just choose her. It sounds like you're planning to book hotel and tickets together, so you can assign her to both of those.

After you've done that, you can go to "My Plans" under your My Disney Experience profile. Scroll down to see the choices and choose "Park Reservations." The site will walk you through the steps--picking date, park and your party. Just make sure you have picked her as part of your party and she'll be all set!

You can go back and check at anytime in this same "My Plans" area because it will list your hotel, park reservations and any other experience or dining reservations.

Okay so if she does not have her own account you just create her under your account and bam that's it.

Those dates are generally not that crowded.

Yes purchase them in the same transaction and assign them.

You'll only receive a magic band if you are booking a resort stay and opt to get them. (Or you can get a plastic card at the front desk)
You can also purchase them separately on the shopdisney website if you're not staying onsite.
You may be able to have plastic cards mailed (like I said I did this the last time I purchased PARTY tickets but I'm not sure if its still an option for regular theme park tickets. You should be able to see your options when purchasing.)
If you do not opt for a magic band and there is not a plastic card mailing option you can get a plastic card at will call.

Thank you for helping!

You can get a plastic ticket card at the gates as you are entering the park. I've seen people mention stopping at the ticket booth/guest services to get it, but that's not necessary. Just walk in like you are entering the park, show them an email or print out of your tickets and they'll give you a card.

I think i might opt to have my ticket/cards mailed to me. Thank you!

I believe i'm just going to get the tickets mailed to me to save that little trouble, Thank you :)
