First time using DVC kitchen, will any of the food I bring in the park be a problem?

We are planning on bringing food into the parks for the 1st time ever, and I wanted to see if any of it would raise a red flag at the gate.

PB&J sandwiches
Sandwich baggies of chips
String Cheese
Whole fruit/ sandwich baggies of cut fruit
Snack Cakes
Granola bars
Fruit snacks
Bottles of water

I guess I am the most worried about them saying no to the cut fruit and string cheese because they are refrigerated items, but this is for 3 adults (despite this looking like an elementary lunchbox ) so we are well aware of temperature danger zones.

Thanks in advance!! The last thing I want to do is buy all these groceries to save money and end up not being able to use it

I have brought lunch into Disney many many times. Only once did a security guard say something, I answered no glass and no straws and we have a food allergy. He said thanks have a great day. You won't have any trouble.

This is taken from the Disney Mom's Panel regarding the same question:

Yes, guests are permitted to bring food and drinks into the park in a back pack, bag, or small cooler (the cooler cannot have wheels). Just make sure that your food and drink are not in a glass container. Plastic and metal food or water containers are permitted in the parks. One of my best tips is to put frozen water in a soft-sided cooler which can then fit in a back pack or a small bag to keep your food and drinks cool.

We prepare snacks from the villa and bring water bottles with us. The guard will just check at the bag check. The only other thing to remember is no straws including straws that may be attached to juice boxes when entering animal kingdom. paw:

Just know there are no picnic tables to set and have a meal, at best you will have to find a bench somewhere to sit and eat.

We have done several very budget trips to WDW and have carried our lunch in...worked out great. Security just said to have great day. Of course we had no glass containers, but did have juice boxes, water bottles, sandwiches, chips, fruit, granola bars. It saved us quite a bit of money and really didn't take too much time to prepare.

We are heading to disneyland in a couple weeks. I read on the website that they do not allow food in but you can picnic outside the main entrance. Has this changed?

I've brought in a backpack full of stuff; trail mix, beef jerky, water bottles, Cheeze n crackers, grapes, you name it...we've brought a ton and never had any issues at Disney park. :thumbsup2

Disney doesn't mind if you keep your food fresh or at the right temperature. They just want to be sure that you don't bring in glass, alcohol or in the case of AK, straws.

We have never had a problem finding a outside eating area in MK, EPCOT or HS there are several in each park. The only park we had a problem finding a place to eat was AK but we usually only spend a 1/2 day there anyway and eat a late lunch back at the villa.

I think what Sammie meant was that the outdoor tables at the counter service restaurants are meant for those who purchased food. while this might not be a problem during slower times, during busy times those whit trays of food that they purchased often have to wait for a table as it is.

therefore, the tables should be available for those who have purchased food from that restaurant.

Thanks for the info everyone! It looks like we will be good to go with our food options. We will be bringing a shoulder bag cooler, so the size shouldn't be an issue.

Thank you!!
