Okay, so we're thinking about staying at BWV next February break and we own at SSR-so we were thinking that we should buy points from a BWV owner at the 11month mark so we could book ASAP and secure the reservation. Just wondering how this would work if for some reason we should have to cancel. If it's before 31 days can we keep the points until the Use year date? If it's 30 days or less what would happen to the points? Just want to be sure of how things work before we go ahead and do this. Also, when doing a transfer do you normally pay the owner after the points have been successfully transferred into your account or do you do a deposit before the transaction is completed? Once the transfer is done, you have complete control over those points just like your own right? :teacher: Please help me out. :crazy2:
Thanks!

Once the transfer is complete, the points are yours to use as you wish. If you make a reservation using those points and later cancel, they will be returned to your account to be used or banked subject to normal policies.

If cancelled 30 days or less before arrival, the points will become "Holding Account" points where they may only be used to make a reservation within 60 days of arrival.

They are supposed to retain their original Home Resort status and Use Year.

Enjoy!

thanks for your reply WebMasterDoc.:goodvibes Does anyone know how the payment arrangements are usually done for this?

According to the POS - transfers are not supposed to involve any compensation. If you decide to work something out, just be sure you are satisifed with any arrangement beforehand - as the transfer cannot be reversed and DVC will not intervene should any dispute later arise.

Good luck! :)
