So it's our family's 1st time out to WDW, 3 of us total. :jumping1: I need help on how much to budget for souvenirs. I just gotta have that hat with the mickey ears to make it official! Most likely t-shirts for 6 or 7 people total (I gotta take something back to the ones who couldn't go with us!). I think our main expense is food since we are soooo food oriented, LOL, but aren't we all! We will definitely be getting ice-cream every night if we can stomach it. I was thinking $2,000-$3,000 total spending & food money. Will this cover it? I'm on my own for lunch and a few mornings for brkfst. I plan to hit the arcade at least a time or two. Should I bump it up?

I'm also stuck on where to eat on Thurs & Fri night. I really need a suggestion for a place to get great steaks (that also serves maybe chicken or pasta) and also one that has great italian food. Price will not be an issue with dinner since I plan to use my wishes for this purpose. Will I need PS for lunch for the SCIFI diner or is it relatively easy to "do lunch?"

Your thoughts and suggestions are welcomed! princess:

Welcome to the DIS! Are all three of you adults? That would make a difference in the cost of meals. How long are you staying?
If it helps, you can take a look at menus/prices here: Menus from around the World to give you an idea of how much to budget. Keep in mind that most portions are very large. As far as souvenirs, that's really flexible! You can spend as much or as little as you want, but Tshirts run about $20 each, give or take a couple of dollars depending on the style.

When are you going? If it's a busy time of year, I would recommend a PS for any restaurant that you know you definitely want to eat at just to be safe. We went at a slow time of year but I made PS anyway because with three kids I didn't want to have to spend much time waiting around for a table. We had lunch at the Sci Fi and loved it. The onion rings and milkshakes are VERY good. We all had cheeseburgers and they were good too.

A few questions:

--How many days are you staying?

--Who does your party consist of - any kids, all adults?

A few suggestions:

--Yachtsman Steakhouse has great steaks. I have heard Shula's is great also but have never tried it.

--Great seafood buffet at the Cape May in the Beach Club

--Le Cellier in Canada in EPCOT is known for their steaks & has a good chicken meal also.

--A great buffet breakfast is served at Trail's End Buffet in Fort Wilderness.

Again, depending on whose in your party & how long you are staying will determine whether you will have enough spending or not.

Thanks for the responses and for the welcome! It's just us 2 adults and 1 child. My son can eat a lot sometimes....I mean the boy just absolutely loves steak! A gene he must've inherited from me. I'm thinking Yachtsman is a great idea...now I have to make one more decision for just dinner and that's going to be the toughest!

OH! I forgot....we'll be there 8 nights (coming in late Fri night).

Most T-shirts at the world are $16-18.00. If your are driving I hear the outlet are selling some of the same things. Once you start the souvenir thing, they expect it every year. LOL!

Consider the sit down meal at Japan - the chefs prepare the meals at your table. Entertaining and a very yummy (but chopped up) filet.:sunny:
