First time to Disney with no kids....help!

I need some ideas/advice for our first trip EVER to disney with no kids. Our 5 year anniversary is in feb and we are going to disney for 3 night. We are staying at the POR....we have never been there before and are excited. ANy tips on trying to get a romantic room? do u think they would do anything special if we told them it was our 5th wedding anniver?

We will be going to epcot and again our first time with no child. Romantic food places? We normally do the princess breakfast and the character lunch at the land....so we want to do more adult stuff this time...

Any other ideas around disney(on or off property) to do....

How about a carriage ride?... We found it romantic, sort of... would have been more so had the driver been more quiet, but she talked to us through the whole ride... I'm sure had we not paid attention to her she'd have talked less... but we didn't want to be rude....

I would eat at Le Cellier in Canda at Epcot...seems romantic. Also, I would try Bistro De Paris (Epcot) or Victoria & Albert's at the Grand Floridian.

Le Cellier is great as is California Grille atop the Contemporary. But my vote for a fun and memorable moment is ...the...Hoop Dee Doo!! Yes, I know that it doesn't immediately scream romance but my DW and I have spent our anniversary there and my nephew and his wife are on their honeymoon as we speak. They (we) have been pointed out as celebrating our special time and have had a terrific time.
Basically, it is hard not to have agreat time anywhere at WDW. Enjoy!! and congratulations!

Dh and I spent our 5th Anniversary at WDW last December and it was a wonderful experience. We don't have children anyway, but I love the characters, so we booked our 5th Anniversary bkfast at CRT and were given a set of engraved Champagne Flutes. We had dinner at WCC and participated in a kissing contest against another couple celebrating their 30th Anniversary, needless to say we didn't win because we were laughing too hard to kiss. We were given the Anniversary buttons at check-in adn wore them everyday excpet the day after our Anniversary. We were given his and hers cupcakes at Chef Michey's, We were applauded in the middle of the street at Disney Studios, many CM's and other guests congratulated us, we received a card in our cabin from the reservation dept, and I can't remember what else, but we had a great time and will be celebrating #6 in 3 weeks at WDW.

Have a great time, and don't forget too ask for the buttons, also mention your anniversary when you book your ressies for dining and also your room.

Hi, I think you have chosen one of the most romantic resorts on property - and I have stayed at several deluxe resorts which I love, but for pure romance I love POR. Only once have I been at WDW with kids. So can I suggest The Brown Derby? It is a lovely restuarant with great food. And I love to go to Narcoosees and time my dinner to watch Wishes outside between my entree and sessert - they dim the lights and play the music. you can stand outside and cuddle with your glass of wine - oooh. Another neat thing is to find a hammock at the POLY and watch the ELP and Wishes from the beach - you can see the castle changing colors. Or take the slow boat ride from POR to DTD. Take the Segway Tour of Epcot or Ft. Wilderness trails. Rent a sea raycer and take a spin around the lake. Or take one of the tours - fun to do and very entertaining. Or just spend time browsing the shops around Epcot. It can be a very different and very wonderful way to experience WDW. Happy Anniversary!

my hubby and I are also going solo for the first time as well in just a few hours. We are staying at CSR- nice and romantic resort. The grounds are beautiful. Good Luck!!

I am so glad I'm not the only person who wants to take a trip to WDW without kids! My friends look at me funny when I tell them we're going to Disney World for our anniversary! My DH and I are going in 36 days (1/4/08) to celebrate our 11th anniversary. We spent our honeymoon there, too, but offsite. We're staying at CSR for 3 nights. I can't wait!

Firstly I would ask for a king size bed room. Send a fax a few weeks before you go to the resort. Then, if upon check-in they don't give you a king size bed request one again if available. DH and I really enjoy the king bed rooms!
In EPCOT try places you wouldn't normally bring the little one. Maybe Chefs De France? The menu always looks good there. Plus there's always LeCellier. I might suggest leaving EPCOT and going to Yachtsmans Steakhouse at the YC if you really want to splurge. You can walk there or get a boat from the World Showcase entrance to EPCOT. By far my favorite restaurant in that area.
You can also call the Disney Florist and have flowers or champagne or goodies sent to the room. DH did this for me in September and we got glasses to take home with us too!
Whatever you choose have fun planning and Congrats on 5 years!!

How wonderful that you're going without kids! I am not sure when the next time we'll be able to do something like that.

I think you should just take time to smell the roses - it's so hard to do that with kids. I vote for Le Cellier also - then walk around Epcot. Stop to see Off Kilter singing near Canada. Watch the fireworks. Really stroll through the countries and take your time to look at details.

We love WDW without the kids, if I lose DH he can find his way back one less thing to worry about. We enjoy Brown Derby, Flying Fish & Just eating around the world at CS places with a drink in hand. we also enjoy the less hurried touring, we sleep in a little more. Without the kids we tend to eat big lunches & not worry about Breakfast & Dinner.

When I read the title, I lol'ed!

You're going to Disney without kids and you're asking for help?!? Here's my advice to you -- Do what you feel like doing when you feel like doing it and have fun!!

And don't laugh at the rest of us who are tiredly pushing a cranky baby in a stroller.

You can actually book a king-bed room at POR for a little more money. That's what I did for our trip coming up in January. I really wanted the king room. I also was hoping to try POFQ because we've stayed at CSR two other times and have another trip coming up for Sept there and I wanted to try somewhere new. But no king rooms were available with the Florida resident code then, so I took CSR again. Which is fine - we like it and I do think it's quiet and romantic.

DH and I celebrated our 25 anniv. at WDW in March '06 and had a wonderful romantic trip. I love WDW without a child in tow. DH and I returned twice in 2007 (alone) and will do the same next year. We ate at fantastic restaurants and took romantic evening walks. We make it a tradition to always eat dinner at LeCeliier the first night so we can see the fireworks after dinner. It's so cozy to stoll around the world with a glass of wine, holding hands with the torches lit.

We also love to sched. 8pm at Narcosees for a lovely dinner and beautiful view of Wishes.

My DW and I are going without kids too in 12 days!!! Last year we went for our honeymoon but took my kids so this year we are celebrating our honeymoon and 2nd anniversary just by ourselves. I think it actually made planning a little harder because I usually have every day planned from beginning to end. This year is a lot more open and should be a much more laid back trip (if there is such a thing at Disney)

My DH and I will be at CSR in 10 days for his birthday. I planned on a few surprises, one of them being renting the sea raycers. Also, we're taking the wishes cruise. He doesn't know about that either. This will be our first time at CSR. Can't wait!! Have a great time!!

DH and I went in oct for our weeding anv. They where great. WE found gifts in our room one day from minnie and mickey. I can not wait to go back

DH and I are also going solo for the first time and we are staying at POR, too! I requested a King room, but I'm not sure if we'll get it or not.

I reserved a carriage ride for us, and we're also eating at Le Cellier, Tony's and Coral Reef. We're also going to try Boatwright's one night.

This is only our second trip to WDW and the thing DH and I are looking forward to the most is exploring World Showcase in Epcot at *our* pace....not just glance at something and whiz by.

I'm also planning on just taking it easy this trip ~ we'll be there five days, and even though I'm a completely obsessive planner normally, this trip we're planning on going with the flow and see what we feel like doing.

I love reading the boards.....you guys just convinced me that DH and I could take a trip without the kids!

We've been debating about whether we could do it or if we would feel guilty being there without them. But DH turns 40 in Jan. 08 and our 15th wedding anniversary is in May 08 so we would like to take a trip in between that celebrates the two big events. DH just asked me last night if I thought we would have a relaxing time.....I said no kids, no schedule, no worries and time to actually finish a sentence to each other.....I think we could do it!
