My first trip ever to Fort Wilderness will be in August, anything I need to know, are there any cheaper rates than what is listed on the Disney website, I belong to AAA and AARP, P.A., Good Sams, there will be four adults, any good sites to be at, anything that might make this a good trip, coming from PA. Thanks and Happy New Year to all!!! Mark and Dot, Catasauqua, Pa. :confused3

This is a great place for a wealth of info re: anything and everything Disney! You will love FW....It's been some years since we were there last but going again next (whoops, I mean THIS!! ) fall and can't wait.

If I'm not mistaken, I don't believe the Disney website shows any discounts unless it's a special package of some sort. But with a little investigating you can usually find something! We also have AAA and will be using that for our discount. A good place to look for stuff like that is www.Mousesavers.com Also when you call for a reservation, just ask if any discounts apply to the dates you want - you have nothing to lose!

You should get more great info here in the coming months; again, welcome! :wave2:

I just checked mousesavers and the campsite value season starts on August 6th. Now I am trying to find the estimated value season rates. If your trip will begin before Aug 6th but extend past Aug 6th then you should make two reservations (ressies) so you can get the lower rate for the tail end of your trip. The way Disney does their ressies is you pay the rate for the entire length of stay based on the rate of your first nite. (Unless they are changing this now). Go ahead and get your ressies now, I believe the AAA discounts are out for the entire year already and you get that discount on top of the cheaper value rate.

Here are the "rack rates" from mousesavers for Value season which begins 8/6:
part'l hook up $39 (water, elec only)
full hook up $44 (water, elec, sewer)
preferred hook up $53 (same as full plus cable tv)

Pet loops are all preferred and an addt'l charge of $5/per nite per pet applies.

The AAA discount is usually 20% the published rates. Tax is another 11.5%.

Wow, I can't believe there's someone else from Catasauqua, PA on these boards. We must be neighbors.

I just made my reservations for October. With AAA discount, the total cost for a full hook up site for 10 nights, including tax, came to $390.00. Disney does not offer AARP or Good Sam discounts.

k3mp, if you would like to email a fellow Catasauquan with any questions, feel free.

We have ressies from December 3 through December 16 - 13 nights - full hook-up - 42.37 per night - tax included - AAA discount - pre-holiday rates - $550.81

I am also going to Ft. Wildnerness for the first time and I am SO excited. We rented a cabin but the prices for the campgrounds are amazing. I hope you have a wonderful time. We will be there in Marcha and I will post a trip report.
