As a newbie here, we should be there the 20th...do we as campers have use of Downtown Disney, I have never been there, been to disney many times but never stayed in any of the resorts, now that I have the 5'er really looking forward to late nights and fun staying there. Any suggestions for traveling within the whole Disney conglomerate, bus, shuttles, whatever to go from Fort Wilderness campground to all over the place. I sound like an idiot but this is all new to me...Thanks :yay:

You do have access to DTD.

You can choose to use your tow vehicle to get around or you can use the Disney bus system. From FW you would take an internal bus to either the Settlement or the Outpost (depends on what your final destination is) and then switch over to the bus you need.

You and your family are going to love this campground, especially in the 5er.It will spoil u, we wont go any way ever again without the tt. It is "faster" using your vehicle outside the fort, but what is the rush? Do plan on spending some time in the campground. Check out disneycampers.com for a wealth of info......ENJOY :cool1:

I    Ft Wilderness

We're doing the lodge this year BECAUSE I love Ft wilderness so much

As others have said, kick back & relax!!! There is absolutly no need to drive anywhere when in Ft. Wilderness. They take care of everything for you. Be sure to book an evening at Hoop De Doo Review. It is expensive, but well worth the $ for the entertainment alone, but they feed you and it's very interactive. The kids will love it!

Enjoy the waterfront, they have watermice to rent - LOTS of fun!

Take the boat over to the other resorts and explore the monorail.

There is so much to do outside of the parks it's amazing!!!

Be sure to bring your bikes. They are a great way to get around the campground and to ride to the Wilderness Lodge.

One of our favorite activities (especially when it's hot) is to take the boat to the Contemporary and hang out in the game room for awhile. The game room is huge and has a good variety of games. Fun for the whole family (including me as I'm not a video game addict).

You're going to absolutely LOVE Ft. Wilderness Campground! Go to the marina to catch the boat over to Contemporary or MK. From Contemporary you can take the monorail to the TTC to catch either the monorail to Epcot or to catch buses to other parks. You don't necessarily have to catch the internal buses at FW to go to other parks. Make use of the boat launches as much as possible because it really cuts down on how long it takes to get to other parks. Here's a great website with everything you need to know about Ft. Wilderness: http://home.hiwaay.net/~jlspence/faq_fw.htm

:welcome: You will  it! Lots of great information to be found on here! Hope you have a magical trip! pixiedust:
