First time staying on property HELP

There will be 4 of us. DH, DS(15), DD(19) and I. We're going to Disney the beginning of June and want to visit Universal. I'd like to stay on property one night so we can get the FOTL passes for the day we arrive and the day we leave. What is my best choice for hotels for 2 teens and for ticket purchases?

Teens would probably prefer the Hard Rock Hotel. It is cool. Go on line for tickets. There is a good deal going on now. Buy a two day/two park ticket for $99 and get three days added on for free. Not a bad deal, even if you only go for two days.
