Hi everyone :earsboy:

In about 3 weeks I will be staying at the Poly Villas for the first time! I will be with my sister and cousin, we are all in our 20's. Is there anything that I should know/do while I am there? We usually stay at the beach club and are excited for something different!

Enjoy! Watch Sunset torch lighting ceremony. Trader Sam's has an entertainer singing on patio in evenings. Love the dining options. You can watch lei making in lobby.
You can walk to the TTC to get Epcot monorail. Hop on monorail to visit GF & CR.

Watch Electric Water Parade and Wishes from resort. My fav place to watch Wishes in summer is while floating in Volcano pool.

Definitely check out Trader Sam's. The bartenders are always fun and the drinks are delicious! Also take advantage of your location on the monorail. You have easy access to several great restaurants at GF and CR. Get dressed up one night and have a fancy dinner at Narcoossee's or California Grill. Both have excellent views of Wishes and wonderful menus. You can also watch the fireworks on the beach at Poly. Go down the water slide at the pool at least once! It's such a fun resort :-)

Dole Whips at Pineapple Lanai! Have fun it is a nice resort! You can walk to the ticket and transportation monorail stop to get to Epcot rather than go all the way around.

Order Ohana room service for one(lots of food), it is absolutely awesome, some of the best food on Disney property. Trader Sams was a lot of fun..enjoy this beautiful resort. Have a great trip!

Both of those so much. Loooove watching the Electric Water parade from the beach. Movies on the beach are also pretty darn neat.

Currently the beaches are still closed, so that may not be an option for you. I suspect that now they have found the culprit, beaches will reopen soon but who knows.

I second Trader Sam's! It is SO much fun! I highly recommend the Shrunken Zombie Head. It gets mixed reviews, and honestly the food isn't wonderful, but I always enjoy the SOA dinner show.

Oh man, I'm jealous! You're going to have such a good time. The Poly is probably one of the most relaxing resorts you can stay at. Hopefully the beaches will be open again by the time you get there so you can watch the water parade and the fireworks from there.
First thing you can do is walk around the resort and check out the grounds. If you feel the need to go to the MK, the monorail is on the second floor of the main building and is just your second stop.
You could also walk to the TTC if you want to get on the monorail for Epcot. It's a pretty nice leisurely walk.
Grab a Dole Whip, and enjoy the lobby. You can also people watch if that is your thing.
You could walk over the the GF and check out their lobby and grounds too.
Another good thing about the Poly is that it usually shares a bus with the GF, but the Poly is the first stop. First on, first off! The bus stop is covered as well.
Or you can sit by either one of the pools, order some drinks, and just relax the time away.

Echoing PP with Trader Sam's, as well as the Electric Water Parade! The Luau might be more fun if you had little ones, but the ribs are spectacular. Plus, once you get past the little "story" they incorporate, the dancing is really good.

Especially take some time to just soak up the atmosphere. I'm not sure how different it will be with the beaches closed, but some of my fondest memories of my WDW vacations have been just walking around the Poly and talking with the cast members there.

Also, I could be wrong with this, but I'm fairly certain the Poly is the only place you can get Dole Whip outside of the MK. On the Tiki Terrace they have a drink that is Dole Whip mixed with a bit of rum.... I bet that's delicious!

EDIT: Sorry for the edit, but I forgot to mention that the shrimp tempura roll at Kona Cafe is fantastic! Shrimp tempura, rice, and mango all wrapped up in soy paper with this amazing sauce. Yuuuum!

Beaches will be open from sunrise to one hour prior to sunset. They will be closed at fireworks time. They will be patrolled to keep folks off.

So sad. Guess will have to view Fireworks and Electric Water parade from walkways and grass areas :-(

Just a note for future reference: in addition to Mk and the Poly, you can also get a Pineapple Dole Whip® Cup or Pineapple Dole Whip® Cup with Coconut Rum in Animal Kingdom at Tamu Tamu Refershments. Just across the bride in the Africa section.

Is there any indication as to whether this is temporary or will become permanent?
