First time RD

My next trip will be our first time RDing. My boys are very early risers (for once I'm happy about this) so we are preparing to RD every morning. I have read on multiple occasions to arrive for RD 30-45 minutes before a park opens. We are staying at AS Sports in June. Should we drive our car to make it for RD or is taking the bus suitable? I know that bus service starts one hour before opening but is that enough time to get a good RD spot?

Myth. Buses start shortly after 6:30a daily and should work great for rope drop.

Our goal is to be at the bus stop one hour before the gate opens. We always take the bus (or boat or monorail if that applies). Remember that only MK seems to be opening at the appointed time and the others opening 15-20 minute early. If the kids are early risers and you have park hoppers, AM EMH can be a great time to get some no crowd time in the park. We love MK on an AM EMH in the winter....no lines. You will want to hop to another park about mid-day as EMH parks do become more crowded as the day progresses. If you do decide to drive some days, be sure to take the bus to MK. It takes you right to the gate where cars must ferry or monorail in.

Thanks! That's great to know. We have an ADR at CP at 8:15 one morning. Would we be ok to take the bus then too or would it be best not to chance it and drive that morning?

You should be. Early ADRs such as yours is one reason buses start when they do.

We stayed at All Star Movies during July and did RD every day. We were pretty much the only people on the bus and we got to the park no later than 45 minutes before opening. My kids loved being the first in line at each park! We love AM EMH! Have fun.
