Hi,
I am going to Anaheim for a 3 day convention at the end of July. I am also bring my hubby, 18 yo daughter, her boyfriend and my 15 yo autistic son. I have been trying to figure this out on my own but am totally overwhelmed.
The convention is at the Anaheim Marriott. They don't have rooms available as I was really hoping to get one with a kitchen since we are staying for a week. However, I would like to stay close to there so that I could walk instead of being dropped off/picked up in case they are gone with the rental car while I am at Convention.
I don't really think we will plan on spending too much time at Disney as we have been to WDW a few years ago- probably just a day (does DL have the same "disability pass" that WDW does.... let's us skip to the front of the line with my autistic son?)
ANY suggestions would be greatly appreciated!!! I am thinking that with my older kids they would rather go other places. I don't even know where to start in this planning...
Thanks in advance!

That board deals with disabilities and has many neurovariants and family of neurovariants including some aspies. They can help you with anything you may need with being in a park with an autistic person.

Things like sensory issues, meltdowns, diets, and dealing with crowds among other things. DLR is unique and should not be missed even if you do only 3 days. I cannot help you with the hotel issues but if you have any disability issues, DLR questions or questions about taking an autistic person to DLR please ask away. My mom and I are neurovariants and have hypersensitivity with my grandmother probably being a neurovariant and mom is worse than a kid with her hyper hyper sensitivity.

Hi Trish & welcome to the DIS. :flower:

Other hotel options that are walking distance to the Anaheim Convention Center are: Hilton, Clarion, Sheraton Park Anaheim, Doubletree Guest Suites, Cortona, and Annabella. Across the street you'd have the Candy Cane Inn. There are others, but these are off the top of my head.
