My husband is taking our 5 year girl old on a 5 day cruise on the Dream, this Monday (4-25).
We are DVC members so are up to date on all WDW stuff, but we've never done a cruise. And he will be ALONE with my DD. Any pointers? Advice? Help? All advice is WELCOME.
Do people/kids wear their Disney princess gowns like they do at WDW??? I just don't know what to pack for them! Thanks!!

They will have a great time! Yes, some kids dress up, especially to take pictures with the princesses, etc. Remind him to check his Navigator when he boards to see if he needs to pick up tickets for ticketed events. There will be so much to do they won't have time to do it all, so just tell them to enjoy!

Yes, kids wear their princess dresses. Primarily for "Dress Up" dinners. But there's plenty that just wear them every day.

I don't have any advice other than just tell him to turn off his phone and stay away from the world and enjoy his alone time. Also, let him know from another dad, I'm super jealous that he gets this opportunity with his daughter, what a special treat for both of them. I hope they have the time of their lives.

What fun! 1. Pack the princess dresses.
2. Wear swimsuits on boarding day. It may be the only time a 5 year will have enough room in the pool.
3. Get tickets to see the princesses immediately after boarding.
4. Have a lanyard or something for room key. His hands will be full.
5. Get a magnet for the room door. It helps little ones spot their room.
I hope there's lots of video and picture storage available because you are gonna want to see this when they get home. Enjoy!

If they plan to get off the ship he should carry a power of attorney just in case. I have never been asked for one, but always travel with it along with passports. Your bank can help you out.

He's her dad. Why would he need POA?

He should consider getting a letter from the OP saying that he has permission to take her (we know they are happily married, but the border people don't), but a POA?

Yes sorry misworded it. Notarized letter is best.
