First time DCL cruiser, all activities already sold out for Fantasy this February?

Yes they do it’s pretty cool. The storm troopers were cool to me. My husband is the fan so didn’t know a lot of the characters.

They bring out Star War characters out on the deck too..all in the navigator on times and who. They had two guys ,sorry don’t know who they are writing tickets and taking people on the elevators away from family members. It was funny really. Also someone wanted to trade things with people, small things , people had.

Tip be in the atrium at 10 the night before the Star Wars day...it’s pretty cool and not listed in the navigator one of the officers told us about it .

thanks so much for the great tip!

We were first time cruisers this past April and I was able to snag a Jedi training a couple of weeks before the cruise. I'm told you also have a chance if you hit up guest services when you get on board.

Jedi training...we were able to go directly to guest services after boarding and get a spot for my 3 boys. So yeah they hold spots back.

How is availability of port adventures?

Port Adventures very rarely fill up except for special ones. Most of them are independent of Disney and many of them may in fact have 2 or 3 ships combined in your group. They usually are built so they can add another van / bus / water taxi as needed if they get enough seats. There are some that may have limited equipment, but usually port adventures are more flexible.

Definitely important to remember that Nearly all of the character meets and several tasting sessions are not even available to prebook online.

Do you mind sharing what happens at 10pm the night before Star Wars Day :)?

You don’t want to be surprised? The officer wouldn’t tell us either just told us not to miss it . I will pm you if you really want to know.

Got it, thank you SO much! Our kiddo is an early bird, so it is incredibly helpful to know in advance whether it’s worth having him try to stay up until then (though I plan to keep it a surprise for him) :)

We are in the exact same boat—I’d love to know if it is worth it before making my kids stay up that late. They love jack sparrow so they stay up for him on pirate night, but every other night they are out by 8:30

You can easily find the answer on YouTube by looking for “Disney cruise Star Wars Lobby”. I thought it was worth it to be there, as we had advance knowledge from the Concierge hosts.

No news on what the 2019 Star Wars Day at Sea will bring different from prior years (if anything). They shortened the number of dates for 2019, so maybe it will just be a retread of 2018.

I want to say the 10pm thing was more like 930. We knew about it and were having a drink at the bar when it went down. I won't say what it is, but I thought it was the best event of SWDAS. I do wonder if they'll keep doing it though because as word gets out, it gets more crowded.

We are doing a S

Going in January, we’ll check it out earlier than but we’re told 10 last January and it was maybe they changed it

Almost every first-time DCLer I've heard of who "tries to book everything" ends up feeling rushed and scheduled. You will have an AMAZING time, even if you don't. book. a. single. thing. Even if you just spend your time exploring the ship, that will be MORE than enough for a first cruise. You will have all kinds of unscheduled magical moments (e.g. the characters come into the kids' clubs and play with them unannounced). Just let it be, and don't worry about it, and your next cruise (oh yes, there will be a next cruise) you'll be silver and will be able to pick and choose more what you want to do. But just be assured that for a first-timer, especially, the "basic" Disney cruise with zero paid add-ons is MORE than enough.

I read about this here. We are DEFINITELY going to be there for this :)
