Hello Everyone,

Like the title says, I have some questions regarding the Disney Dream 3-night Bahamian Cruise we will be taking. Thank you so much in advance for answering.

1) Are the Main Dining Dinner Cocktails in the beginning of the menu free? There seem to be no price. The dessert liquor have prices though.

2) What time does the adult area hors d'oeuvres presented?

3) How are servers reacting to guests asking for 2 entrees during dinner? Have you tried?

Thank you for reading this far! :D

Main dining room cocktails are not free. People have been cruising for generations, server won't blink about providing a second entree. Enjoy!

Basically assume no alcoholic drinks are complimentary. On longer cruisers there is a Captain's night where they pass around cocktails in the atrium but I am not aware of any comp drinks on the shorter cruises. Also at the return cruiser party for Gold and Platinum members they have comp cocktails.

1) Unless you are Gold/Platinum/Concierge/DVC, there's no way to get "free" alcoholic drinks outside of the Captain's night watered down cocktails. I put quotes around free because nothing on the ship is free. There's "included" or "available at an extra cost" considering the price you pay for the cruise
2) Around 5 PM I think. There's food there around lunch that's removed around 2-3 PM. Then they bring some out before the first seating.
3) Like they react if you order two starters and two desserts : they couldn't care less. Some people do it on a daily basis, others when they can't decide what they would like. We often order an entree each and another one to share.

Like to add, as far as ordering a second entrée, is to do it at the same time you order the first one. It's best not to wait and try to order a second one after you eat the first one because They need to turn the tables over in a certain amount of time.

We were on the Wonder:

For hors d'oeuvres, we found that in the evening it was 10:30-11:30PM that food was available, some seemed to start closer to 9:30/10PM.

Also, Cove Café has free food available all hours that they're open--breakfast pastries in the AM, desserts in the afternoon, and cheese/meat/olives/crudites in the evening.

We just got off the Wonder. The server glanced at my husband enjoying the lamb and went to get him another plate. He loved that! :) They are very easy going. You can have any combination you want.

In the Crown and Fin on deck 3 you can have chicken wings (very good) chips, hotdogs, veggies, olives around 5pm. The Promenade lounge has various snacks through out the cruise and late night snacks. Cove Cafe has great desserts and sometimes little sandwiches or cheese and crackers. You can have those just get a plate and dig in. There is no additional charge.

On our last Disney cruise I ordered two salads (and an entree) and the server decided I should eat one salad and then ask for the second. He would not just bring out two or throw them both on the same plate (i love salad).

So...ymmv with the whole "order whatever you want they'll be happy to do it" thing. It sure varied with me!

That's a first for me after 10 cruises, on many cruise lines. I've even had a waiter bring me a "real" starter after I'd only ordered a soup, two desserts because he thought my choice was not the right one, a second lobster tail because "men always get two anyway", etc. I've never had to make a comment about service to the head waiter but I would have done one right there and then.

That's a weird waiter. On the cruises I've been on they sometimes brought me more when I asked them "which one do you think is better". They just brought both (or more) and let me decide. I hope you mentioned this in your trip survey.

I wonder if he waited to bring your 2nd salad so he could pour the dressing on the 2nd fresh, so your 2nd salad wouldn't mush while you were eating your 1st ??? Or maybe to make more room on the table? I'm just guessing, b/c like others have mentioned, getting 2 of something usually isn't a big deal

I always forget that Cove Cafe food is free (complimentary). But coffee and other beverages are not correct?

Where you will get plenty of free drinks and food is if you cruise Concierge. I did it once, so far, and it was fantastic.

In regards to 2nd entrees, we have never had a problem. DH and me usually split one and we also usually get an extra appetizer to spilt too.

Have a great cruise.

I had read the pub had food out around 10 every night. Didn't realize they did earlier as well.

Besides the Cove, where else do they put out snacks? I love grazing on small bites!

Adult areas at night and also there are the quick service windows on the pool deck where you can get wraps, fruit, chips, burgers, etc.

Just sharing my experiences. Several times when we asked for a second entry or appetizer, we were told they would have to check and see, and we kinda felt like we were putting them out. Granted, it was for like extra sushi or lobster, so we totally understood that quantities might be limited, but it was so different from what I expected from these boards, so I was surprised. We did always get the extra, so I'm not complaining, just trying to help people set realistic expectations.

Also, I have a related question. Did people order appetizers AND a salad/soup or mostly one or the other? Because our servers told us on the first night to pretty much order one thing from the first page (appetizers/salads/soups) and one thing from the second page (main courses). Again, that doesn't seem to be what I've read here.

You can order whatever appetizers and/or soups you wish. I usually just get an appetizer and entree (and a couple of desserts). But, on occasion, I've gotten two appetizers and requested one to be entree size (if I'm hungry), or just two regular appetizer sizes (if I'm not).

My husband usually get an appetizer as well as a soup along with the entree.

We vary based on our son's patience that evening, but we usually get a starter (with a spare to share), a soup, a main course and a dessert (or two). I've never had a negative comment or a limit from the waiter, whatever we chose to do.

DH and I ordered from every section and multiple things. I'm wondering if some waiters were off their game so to speak.
