HI!
This is going to be our first time camping at FW and I had a couple of questions. Do the pop up tent sites have electricity? What is the ground like for the pop up tent sites to put your tent on?

Thanks,
Anne

Yes, there is electricity at every site, 50, 30 and at least 2 20 amp plug ins.
The pads are a ground shell and holds tent stakes rather well.
Enjoy your trip.

Anne,

Yes, the tent sites are crushed coral/shells therefore no worry about puddling because of the Florida rains. They dry much faster than the sand and are a dream to put tent stakes into! Enjoy your trip!

Thanks for the responses! How much padding do you need under your sleeping bag to not feel the crushed shells. I have an air mattress, but our kids do not.
Thanks,
Anne

Hardly any at all. It is very finely crushed. One thing I would suggest is buy some of the cheap painters plastic and put it underneath your groundcloth. Then throw it away at the end of your trip. If it rains any at all, the bottom of your tent will have a fine layer of the stuff that is extremely hard to get off before packing up.

If you have that painters plastic down first, you can just ditch it at the end of your trip.

It is also nice to bring a dining tent to pull the picnic table into...dining under the stars is nice but it will help to keep the mosquitoes at bay!

maybe because we were in the 600 loop which is more open but the WDW flying bug team wasn't as bad as our last trip.

maybe too all the clearing in the fort is having an effect
