Due to unavailability at the resort where we usually stay, we are going to the BWV in June for 9 nights in a 1BR. I have 3 children (13yo DS, 9yo DS, & 8yoDD). I have questions, please!
1. What is a good location for a 1BR preferred view (I specifically requested "near elevator")?
2. We use our car a lot. How far is the self-parking (I'm used to convenience of the parking at the BCV)? Is valet free for DVC members?
3. Are the sofa beds more comfortable than the ones at BCV?
4. Does the Community Hall stay very crowded?
5. Do you feel comfortable letting your children roam around the resort? I've been letting the children - usually only the boys, 13 & 9 - go to the arcarde and explore around with the stipulation that they always stay together. This has been at VWL and BCV. Does the BWV seem more "public" to you. How do handle this?
I guess that's all for now, unless any of you BWV experts know of other pertinent information I should know. Thanks!

Hi Bravemom!

BWV is our home resort and we will be there the first 8 nights of June as well. We always go the first week in June.

1. I would request a non handicap accessible room. We got stuck with a handicap accessible studio last weekend and it was HORRIBLE!! Also, request highest floor possible.

2. We never self park. We use the valet as it is free to DVC members ... but remember to tip the valets.

3. Don't know.

4. Community Hall is never packed ... but there always are children around to play games and to do arts crafts.

5. We are admittedly overprotective ... so I don't let DD, who is 13, wander around without a pal or a parent.

I don't think that BWV feels more public. As a matter of fact I think the private pool and community hall feel a whole like our swim club here at home.

1) I would say near the Elevator would be great... We stayed there two years ago and had a great view of the pool and Leaping Libations...

2) The valet service is free to members who are staying at the resort... The valets are usually pretty awesome.

3) Never stayed at BCV, so I don't know...

4) Community Hall is usually pretty laid back... I think once, I counted 12 people in there during craft time, but that's it...

5) My kids are 5 and 3, so I'm not to that point yet.. :teeth:

6) Unless you are actually out on the Boardwalk, I don't think BWV is any more or less open to the public than any other resort... We've never had any problems with noise, or etc...

Hope this helps.. :)

Thanks for the replies. I'm getting more and more excited about staying at this "new" resort. Glad to know the valet is free (except for tip), that settles my anxiety about walking back and forth to the car. I did request Upper Floor in addition to Near Elevator, so maybe we'll end up with a decent view/location.

Another question - How much storage area is there for clothing? It looked like there was only one drawer in the TV armoire in the living, and I could not really tell about drawer space in the bedroom (armoire and nightstands).

There has always been enough space for our family of six. There is a nice sized closet off the bedroom as well as the armoire. Remember that you will have a washer/dryer in the room so don't pack too much. It's easier to just throw in a load off laundry than drag lots of suitcases around with you.

Last June we had rain, rain, rain, rain. No more.
