First time booking question

Hi! I just called MS to book what is eventually going to be a 10-night trip (8/2 to 8/12). I knew I would only be able to book the first 7 nights (8/2 - 8/8). He said to call back on the 9th to book the last 3 nights. I've noticed elsewhere people saying they are calling day by day to book the rest. What am I missing? Should I really be calling back tomorrow or should I wait until the 9th as MS told me?? TIA

It would not hurt to call back each day. You would have 4 separate reservations but once you have all your days in they should not have a problem converting it to one reservation. Just ask them to do that on the final day. Good luck.

You can call tomorrow to add the 8th night. Then call on Sun to add the 9th night. Then Monday to add the 10th night.

If you are booking something that you want to make sure you get, call in the 8th night, 9th night, 10th night on the subsequent days. If you are calling for a less busy time, not the most sought after reservation, you could wait until the fourth day of your trip and call them all in at once.

Waiting until the 9th was wrong info. Unless you were changing room category or resort on after the 7th night. Then you would have to call on the 9th for 8/9 through 8/12. That would be a new reservation and not a continuing reservation.

Thanks so much for the info. Does it make a difference that I'm using developer points? He said he would have to send the paperwork somewhere and I would get a confirmation in 2-3 weeks. So if I call tomorrow, and again the next day, etc., maybe that would mean they would have to send extra paperwork for each of those added days???

Tell them that you intend to add days to the reservation and to hold sending out the confirmation until you let them know you have all your days.

They are not separate reservations, they extend the original reservation.

For early August I don't think you have to worry, I would call all at once unless it's a small booking category like a grand villa.

Thanks Debbie, Ive done this and when i told them to make it one ressie he said ok and never told me it was automatic.

Also I have played around with changing reservations and as long as i did within a couple days they never even sent me paperwork for what i cancelled or modified. I think they are wise to us.
