I read at another thread or message board (can't seem to find it anymore even with the search tool) that the first two weeks of december is the best time to go to WDW and on the DCL. We'll be arriving after the thanksgiving holiday (nov 30-dec 9).

my questions are will the parks be not as busy and will all parks be open during those days. I've read that sometimes they close the parks, i can't seem to find that information, sorry again if this has been addressed before :duck:

TIA

We have gone to WDW the first week of December in 2002 and 2003, with another trip planned in December 2004. The parks are no where near as crowded as they are during peak season. I did notice that they were more crowded in 2003, than in 2002, but still, after experiencing peak season, this was a cake walk.

All the main parks were open during our stays. Only one of the water parks was open last year... same thing this year. The other is closed for refurbishing. The drawback to "value" season is that the parks close early. Still, with the special events going on like Mickey's Very Merry Christmas party and fireworks and other special things going on in the other parks, you can always find something fun to do.

Enjoy your stay. We will be there at the same time. :)
