I called today and booked a studio at SSR for June 10-14. It wasn't our first choice but it was the only studio available since we booked so late. We were at BCV last week of April and did an add-on so this is an extra trip for us. Just wondering if you have any tips for staying at this resort due to its size. We will have a car but we are a little turned off to this resort due to the size. Anything to ease our mind....

Go spend an hour reading the SSR lovers thread on the MISC board. You will feel much better :thumbsup2

The first picture is the view from a studio in the Springs section.
The second picture is the studio balcony (nice size and great view).
The third picture is OKW. Take the time to ride the boat and visit the first DVC resort. It is beautiful, just like SSR.
The Springs section is close to the main check-in, food and shopping. Having a car is a great option at SSR. I find it easy to get around WDW, except MK. It is better to take the bus straight to the main gate.

Have a wonderful trip.

Just went in March and didn't like it at all, but we were "stuck" way out in Carousel. I was wishing we had a car for the first time in 8 years of going to Disney. So at least you're starting out on the right foot. Its a pretty place, but waaaaay too big for our liking. So my biggest tip for you is to PAY them to not get Carousel.

Are you relaxing? Doing all the parks? Doing certain parks?

DH and I spent a relaxing stay there last year, so I can offer some advice on that. We requested Congress Park, and enjoyed a leisurely walk to DTD every evening and a boat ride back. We took the boat over to OKW to look around - such a lovely trip. Got a massage and peppermint pedicure at the spa, and spent an afternoon lounging at the springs pool. Had a lovely lunch at Turf Club. Walked all around the resort one evening enjoying all the little creatures who live there - bunnies, geckos, turtles, frogs, etc. A different sort of trip for WDW, but easily the most rejuvenating 5 days I've ever spent anywhere!

If you're concerned about the size of the resort, request Springs or Grandstand as they're in the middle of all the action.

One little-known transportation advantage of SSR is that you can easily get to other resorts by hopping on the resort busses in DTD.

Have a great time!
