We are staying at the Polynesian for the first time in May, what can we expect?? Large rooms Vs Value? Also how is food service at Poly?? We always stay at Mod or Value so this will be a first for us. Time to pack the bags.....

Just returned from our first stay at the Polynesian. We LOVED it! The MK resorts RULE! We were in Tahiti Bldg., garden view and we were in ecstasy! The room was huge, the bathroom very large and nice - two sinks - and the building was very nice. There is a "private" beach on the MK side of the bldg. which we REALLY enjoyed! My only request was non-smoking...I Loved the Polynesian and can't wait to return. It is awesome!!

The rooms are huge and very tropical feeling. Great for having kids in the room. The grounds are lush and expansive with a walk-in pool and lots of sandy beach areas.
Room service was great each time we ordered it. They have wonderful coffee at the Poly. There is a little coffee shop open in the am next to the Kona Cafe where you can get great coffee drinks and pastries.
Great monorail and boat service and the TTC is right around the corner to go to Epcot. It is fun to hop on the monorail and go to the GF or CR to visit and eat. You get to use MK much more because it is so easy to just hop over for the fireworks or a stroll.
The electrical water parade goes by each night and you can sit on the beach and wait for it while the kids play in the sand. The CMs are always warm and wonderful. You will love it.

We just got back from our first WDW visit last week. The first 5 nights were spent at the Poly.

We were in Tahiti and liked it quite a bit, though I could see that some people may consider it a bit too far away from the "action". In addition to Kona Cafe and Ohana, there is also counter service at Captain Cook's. Captain Cook's does not have the greatest hot food choices but you can always get fresh fruit, yogurt, muffins, cereal and other basic food items there. I think it is actually open 24 hours a day.

If you hang around the lobby of the Great Ceremonial House in the early afternoon, the CMs walk around offering complimentary cookies to guests. Delicious!

Although the Poly does not have its own fitness centre, the one at the Grand Floridian can be used by Poly guests and it is a short jog from the Poly via the beach. Make sure you take the opportunity to take a stroll across the entirety of the beach front right over to the Grand Floridian. There are some really nice vistas along the way, both looking out onto Seven Seas Lagoon and the Magic Kingdom and looking back at the Poly.

Have fun. We certainly did.
