Hi! Our first trip to WDW is coming up this Saturday! We rented a pool home in Windsor Hills, but have reservations at CRT on 6/7 @ 9 a.m. What time should we arrive so we aren't late and don't get caught up at rope drop? Thanks in advance! I'm so excited I can't stand it!:yay::banana::woohoo::cheer2:

I would say be in the parking lot at 8, and then enjoy a very leisurely stroll down main street (assuming there's no early EMH that day).

There will likely be a person holding a clipboard off to the side of the gate. You'll want to 'check in' there.

I'd say be at the gates no later than 8:30 (presuming no AM EMH). Earlier is better. If you have to kill time before an ADR somewhere, you could do a lot worse than Main Street, USA!

Since you are not staying onsite you will have to go through the TTC to get to the front gate of MK. Like Goofy4 suggested, I would plan to be in the parking lot no later than 8:00 am. You will need to take a monorail or a ferry from the TTC to the front gate area. If the line for the MK monorail is long then take the resort monorail -- it makes a stop at the front gate, too.

I was just thinking that your message title said "First Time a Disney", so yes, 8AM may not be as early as it may sound.

Hopefully you'll have a nice sunny day and can take in a nearly empty Main Street! Enjoy!

Oh i remember our FIRST time in 2007 we where able to get CTR the last day of our trip at 8:30, i kept it a secret till that Morning and my little girl was SUPER excited It was a great time by all its something my little one still talks about it 3 years later just wish we could get in this years but its OK we will go for Akershus in Norway. Its nice tooo

Thank you , everyone, for your advice. If we take a resort monorail, do we have to show that we are staying onsite, or can anyone use it? I'm trying to wrap my mind around all of this, but I'm completely overwhelmed by all the info and so excited just to go and see it all!

We rented the pool home in windsor hills with our two girls( DD11 and DD4) my husband's parents, his brother and wife, and their two kids (DS 6 and DD 4). None of us have ever been to WDW, and the kids are so excited! (The parents are nearly as excited-I must confess :rotfl:)

These forums are wonderful, I have so many lists of great information. :cool1:

Good question... I'm almost positive the answer 'no'. Resort guests would not be parking there in the first place, but from the MK side, I've never been asked to show that I'm staying at a resort.

All forms of WDW transportation are for everyone. Resort guest or not. You will not be asked to show ID to get on the resort monorail.

If it were me I would plan to arrive at the parking lot at 7:30am. It can take a good 30-45 minutes to get from the car to the gate. You then have to get throught the gate and walk to the castle.
