First things first for first timers in MK?

I always suggest to first timers to really take in Main St. So many people rush down heading for whatever land is on their plan that they miss out on really enjoying Main St. Take your time, take it all in, get your photo in front of the castle and then I think I would head to Fantasyland first and enjoy some classics like Small World and Peter Pan as the first attractions.

Haunted Mansion is where we started with my in laws and daughters first trip.

Thank you all for your suggestions and advice! Just the idea of thinking about our trip from the perspective of someone who hasn't been before is pretty fun to me! Have you thought about the time in your life before you knew the fun and magic of DisneyWorld?! Or what it was like not having hugged Mickey and Minnie Mouse?!
