Our first stay as DVC owners is only a few days away. We are so excited. We are owners at SSR, but bought resale last year and had banked points, so we are staying at GFV. We usually have stayed at Pop Century and one time at POFQ, so this will be our first time at a Deluxe resort. We are only going to MK one day and Typhoon Lagoon one day, so the rest of the week is pretty open. Any suggestions on fun non-park activities? I know we will do DTD, but ideas of places other than that. We will be using Disney transportation and will not be renting a car, so off property ideas will not work. We are so excited to have a slower paced vacation and not running to every park all day long, but just looking for ideas for those times we feel like leaving the side of the pool. We do have a 8 year son and a 6 1/2 year old daughter.

Congrats! There's always something special about the first DVC stay. :thumbsup2

I would visit Fort Wilderness. See the horses, depending on the size of your children, there could be a pony ride. Ride bikes if you like, there are playgrounds, just a whole different Disney Experience. The pool is nice there, if pool hopping is allowed during your stay.

It's relatively easy to get ADR at Trail's End Buffeteria, and our whole family finds good eats there!

Take Monorail to Contemporary, then a boat to FW, or go to MK and get a boat to FW from there.

At night at FW there's a campfire program, could be visited by Chip & Dale....plus movie, maybe too late for you, there will be a movie right at GF also.

You can go to the Boardwalk. In nice weather they have a lot of action by the lagoon. Rent the surrey bikes to circle the lagoon. They also have mini golf nearby.
We did this one vacation. Very relaxing. Rode bikes. Visited several resorts. Ate at Boma and saw the animals.
Have fun!
