Unless I missed one earlier, I think this is the 1st one that's been listed for SSR, here is the description information about the resort:

"This auction is for a 5 night stay (Sunday thru Thursday only) at Disney's newest resort scheduled to open in late May. This is for a 5 night stay in a studio that provides a queen size bed, full size sleeper sofa, one bath, kitchenette with wet bar, mini fridge, microwave, and coffee maker. The resort offers tennis courts, another quiet pool with whirlpool, Lakeside Fireworks Viewing Plaza, water craft service to Downtown Disney and Motor Coach service to Walt Disney World. This is for any week in September, Ocotober, Novemeber December, january EXCLUDING NOVEMBER 23-26, DECEMBER 24-31. This is the picture of the resort (which may I add offers a ver close by spa)) that we received when purchasing. I will incluse this matted lithograph with the winning auction. A Lakeside Country Retreat in the Heart of it All - Opening Late Spring 2004 Just across the lake from the magical metropolis of Downtown Disney® lies the charming haven of Disney's Saratoga Springs Resort & Spa. From it's colorful Victorian architecture to the historic influence of horse racing, this idyllic lakeside community recaptures the heyday of Upstate New York country retreats in the late 1800s. The highlight of the entire Resort is the breathtaking High Rock Spring, which cascades down rockwork, emptying into a clear freeform heated pool. This pool area offers an exciting water slide that winds through rocks and passes under a bridge overlook, two whirlpool spas, an interactive children's wet play area, and the "On the Rocks" pool bar. Imagination flows through this newest addition to the Disney Vacation Club, where family and friends gather together amidst rolling hills, fragrant gardens, graceful promenades and gurgling springs to relax, reconnect and rejuvenate the spirit.

Interesting. Buy it now for $895! :D A good bargain for anyone who would normally book their stay for cash. The price on the WDW website for a Sun-Fri visit in October is 1583.30 before tax!

DH and I were just looking at ebay last night for DVC resales and rentals. Yes, I actually heard the words, "If we buy another 200 points..." come out of his mouth! ;) It will be a while before that can happen, though.

That description made me want to bid - just kidding! Might want to try it out sometime in the future, though. I think we would like the location.

Can't help but wonder if there is really enough availability to make that auction worthwhile. Any SSR owners know how availability looks for those months right now?

What happens if you win and the owner can't get any of the dates you can go? Do you still have to pay? Dos the owner still have to pay EBAY?

Yes and No. That stay uses 55 points, at $900 that comes to over $16 a point, I can rent those 55 points on the DVC Rent/Trade Board for $10 a piece, thereby reducing the price of my stay to $550.
Maybe I'll put toegther a little pamphlet to "sell" on E-Bay explaining how to save hundreds on the same reservation.:smooth:
