First Souvenier from Disney that you can remember?

First trip was in '88, and we were on a budget. My brother and I could only get one or two souveniers each. I wound up with a blue Minne Mouse print cloth hat with a Minne Mouse pin and a t-shirt from Epcot Center. I still have the hat and pin, but somehow managed to outgrow the shirt...:rolleyes1

My first trip was in 86 and I had a Daisy Duck trucker style hat with a plastic beak. I will never forget that oh so stylish hat!

A LARGE mug with my name and the year etched on it. Still use it. Great for root beer floats.:banana:

I was 11 when we went in 1986 and my sister and I got the trucker-style Goofy hats with two big felt teeth hanging off the brim and dangly fabric ears.

I was five and my momma bought me a blue dress with little minnie mouses all over it. We still have it somewhere!

I still have mine- It's a round pewter keychain from 1982. On the front is the castle and the words WALT DISNEY WORLD and the back has a picture and name of each land from the Magic Kingdom.

Mine is a glow in the dark skull from Pirates. It stayed on my desk in my room until I went to college.

Three things stand out, though I'm not sure which one was the very first.

Plush Minnie Mouse (still have, somewhere...)
Stuffed Figment (He lives right on my bedside bookshelf. <3)
A rock candy stick.

I don't know why it stands out so much but I will never forget that rock candy and feeling like it was the biggest deal in the world to have a rock candy from that store while the streets were packed with parade crowds. :)

1972. I had 2. one was a beanie type hat with triangular/colored panels on it. I recall they were blue, orange and yellow and had Mickey, Donald and Pluto on them that we got on Main Street. Also got a flintlock pistol in Frontier Land.

Pluto cap with the dangling ears and a red plastic Mickey mug that I can only assume came with a drink at MK. Mickey is holding a baton and in marching band uniform. I assume it was early 90s because I was born in 1986. It was when there was some sort of maze made of hedges.

It would be great to see pictures of these items if anyone has them! It is like a walk down memory lane :)

When I was there in April 1972 my nephew and I got HUGE sombreros and as we were leaving the MK another kid coming into the park yelled to us in the thickest northern accent, "Hey youse guys, where'd you get da hats?" :rotfl: I always think of this when we go by "Youse Guys Moichandise" in HS. That sombrero hung on my bedroom wall for years and years. :goodvibes

I also got these tiny ceramic snails at the shop on the RH side of Main Street. It was a boy & girl snail and I lost the boy but still have the girl. Strange that I chose something non-Disney, but I did. :confused3

My first souvenier was from 1992 and it was a rubber Mickey Mouse piggy bank. I think it was a set with Mickey and Minnie. I still have them.

ajleone - That Epcot coin was my first souvenier at Disney! As I was coming to this last page to write about it I saw your picture. That brings back some memories. I got mine in February of 86. My brother got a stuffed Figment.

A sweatshirt from Fort Wilderness, a mug from EPCOT, & some postcards to send to friends & family. I still have a postcard from Fort Wilderness packed up somewhere. I have no idea what happened to the shirt & mug. I wouldn't be able to wear the shirt, but the mug would still be useable! We had to buy our souveniers with our own money, IIRC, so we didn't get much. We had no clue about Disney World, so we didn't even know to be excited to be there!

my pirate hat and pirate gun from pirates of the carribean i still have the gun and hat still i have had it for 25 years now

My first trip wasn't until I was an adult. In 1990, before kids, I got a coffee mug that has Mickey on it. I just used it the other morning.
