I'm thinking about (actually made a reservation today  ) doing a solo trip the week after Thanksgiving.

How many days do you veteran solo goer's recommend? I have a reservation for Sunday to Friday. Is that too many? To few??

I usually do a week or so.. I take my time and Relax as much as possible!

It is all up to you. Are you staying at a resort on the property??

Do you like to do all of the parks, or vegetate by the resort pool??

Do you like being at the parks from rope drop to security sweep??

That's the pleasure of going solo - YOU get to make the decisions on what where when and how long!!!

I'm doing 12 nights for my next solo trip. But I know that I can deal with being by myself for that long.

My solo trip in Sept. was 11 days. Loved every minute of it. Spend two full days in each park, one day just riding the various busses, boats and monorail to all the resorts, one day seeing if I could hit a couple of major attractions at each park (I did) and then my last day seeing the shows I really liked and ending with the fireworks at MK.

Magical.

My first solo trip was six nights. It was just right for me.
Congratulations on booking your trip! :woohoo:

Mine is 7 nights next month I know I could handle more but can't get more time off work!!

I went on my first solo trip a few weeks ago. I only stayed for 5 days, it wasn't really long enough. I'm thinking of doing this every year but for a full 7 days.

A word of warning though....I found my solo trip to be so much fun that I literally cried when I had to come home.

Yes solo trips can be VERY addicting... going on my 3rd next month!:goodvibes

Thanks for all the replies. I'm a little worried about being 'lonely' but I think for the number of days I'll be there, I'll be okay. I really want to experience all of the Christmas offerings.

I will be staying on property and I'm really looking forward to the whole "doing my own thing" thing - as bad as that sounds.

I love taking pictures of all sorts of things so I think I'll really enjoy doing that.

Thanks again for all of the encouragement !!

I love going solo :) I usually go for 7 nights/8 days. though my last few trips were for 9 nights 10 days. I find 5 nights/6 days goes by way to fast for my liking.

Enjoy your solo trip :)

On my first solo trip(and only so far), this past November, I went for 7 days/6 nights... I had 5 full days in the parks and my 1st night as well. I found that to be alright... but I think I'd like my next solo trip to be longer, maybe 8 or 9 days. There's so much more I want to do, and i know i can handle longer on my own.

You picked a great time to go. I'd take as many days as I could get off work and could afford.

I'm just curious, what make a person decide to take a solo trip?

I do enjoy having some "me" time each week. I just never thought about going to WDW or out of town to have "me" time. I think I would feel lonely after a day or two. I did go for a week with my best friend (no husbands or kids) and that was so fun.

On my first solo trip I took a 7 day/6 night where I had 5 days at the parks. My last trip I had a 6 night/5 day which was too short. I always go around the labour day week-end, low crowds and good weather.

This year I am going to shell out the big bucks and do MYW Premium Plan and take advantage of all that WDW can offer (Tours, Water Rentals, Parasailing and Fishing), so I'm going for 10 day visit.

It not so much me time, as a way to decompress from my work when I select to go solo. WDW has the activities I need to keep interested without being stressed out. I have gone to all inclusive resorts in the past, and I found it wanting for me.

I went on my first solo last Nov during F & W festival.
Epcot was packed! Didn't enjoy that part as much as I thought.... didn't like the waiting in line alone.
Yes, I met people waiting in line..... and there was always someone different to talk to... but still seemed like I was having the same conversations just with different people.

It was great at the other parks when it wasn't crowded.

I went for 5days/nights. After the 4th day, I started to get lonely and miss home.
I think if I go on another solo.... thinking about August...... if it's warm and I can hang out at the resort/pool in the afternoon and the parks being open later in the evening...... I will enjoy it more.
Last Nov the weather was nice..... but too cool for pool, water rides, boats, etc.

So...... for me.... I think it would depend on the time of year how many days would be good ! :thumbsup2

My first solo trip was 12 days and my next one will be 11 days. Now just to set a reference point, even my WDW trips with friends/family tend to be at least a week in length and I normally wanted to go for a few days longer but couldn't convince the people that I was traveling with to take more vacation.

I went for 4 days and it worked out fine. Maybe next time I will stay longer:cool1:

I have my first solo trip booked for March1-5th..While I am used to doing things alone as I travel a lot on business and I love the beach and things of that nature solo I am not certain how DW will be solo and I have to admit I am a bit apprehensive. WDW has always been something I have either shared with my son or my great niece . I have to admit there are so many things I do not do when I am there with them because either its not my sons thing(he is 25) or I cant do with the little ones (niece is only 8) I have probably read and reread every post about solo traveling on here and I have said so often I was going to try one trip solo just to see how it could be for me, however if planning it solo I would have stayed all nights on property. As it was I was bringing friends and rented a condo off site, only to be left hanging at the last minute. It is ironic as everyone I know cannot get off of work at the last minute, all the nieces and nephews are having SOL's at school so it must be a sign:):) do it now !!!!lol... I am always up for an adventure so here I go...and if you see me there looking pathetic or lost...stop and say hello:):) lol
