First Solo Trip Blues

Heading out in about...hmmm....11 hours...flight takes off at 7:30am from Omaha. Just tucked my beautiful DDs in...and it hit me that I won't see them until next weekend. It's breaking my heart. I know I will get over it...but my oldest is 5 and youngest is 3 and I've never been away from them for more than 12 hours. It's just tough...

I'm sure the Magic of Disney (once I get through the travel delays because of Wilma) will make things a little better, right?

Going on business. Decided to buy a hopper pass for a couple of days because who can go without going to the parks. Had a friend who wanted to go with -- and financially, as well as vacation time and time away from school...just didn't make sense for DH & DDs go to along. Friend backed out at the last minute (knew she was going to...she kept procrastinating on buying her airline tickets -- and they went from $143 round trip to $750).

Planned time in the parks on Monday (which might not happen now because I'm guessing I'll be delayed and the parks are closed until the storm passes), Tuesday and part of Wednesday. Conference is 1/2 day Wednesday, all day Thursday and 1/2 day Friday.

I know time will fly...but, Disney is just one of those places where I want to be with my family.

Understand it will be hard away from the young ones.

But think of it being a scouting trip. Checking out all the new stuff, maybe looking for the Hidden Mickeys. Taste testing for the Magical Gathering.

Maybe call the kids and have them talk to a character on the phone.
Buy a little somethin' you only get at Disneyworld. Pick up guest of honor badges. Time going from one ride, restaurant,waterfall, resort, to another.

Hope those thoughts help you not get too lonely.
