First solo holiday booked for 2 weeks in Sept!!

I have yet to see festival of the lion king!! Even though I have been there 4 times now I have still so much left to see and do! Sounds like your mum had a fab time, and it's great that Disney is so varied and has something for everyone over there! Staying at AK must have been a treat too!!

That's great!! Do you know where you will be staying yet? I'll be at Pop! And no I haven't made any definite plans just yet, was just going to do whatever I fancied when I got out there so I'll be free to meet up anytime! I'm buying the 2 week universal ticket so I can go there whenever too, will just use uber to get there! So we can always go there together if you like! I haven't booked the Halloween party yet, if I do it'll be the 8th sept one! I wasn't sure about doing it on my own tho as quite a lot of money! But then I'd like to see the nightmare before Christmas stuff!! :)
You have to see festival of the lion king!! It is beautiful!

Animal Kingdom Lodge is wonderful and I would love to stay there in September. Or at the Beach Club. But a deluxe is just not affordable for me. I am currently debating whether I should go for a moderate or a value. It depends on whether I will find a good offer on the internet. I booked our May stay through the UK Disney site with free Memory Maker and free Dining Plan. Unfortunately there is no offer available for September 2016.
I would also love to try Coronado Springs or Carribean Springs or one the Port Orleans hotels. As I said it depends on my budget. And the costs of my flight

I would definitely like to join you for a trip to Universal and the mall and doing the Halloween party together would be a lot of fun, too. I love Nightmare before Christmas!! ...are there any restaurants you would like to try?

My only concern is the weather. But I guess it means being flexible. That is the only thing that bothers me a bit about fast pass plus. It is easy to change your fast pass for space mountain but when it comes to 7 dwarves mine train...not so much!

@FelineVintage: Hope you are getting the funds together. On the other hand April is a beautiful month in WDW!

I hope you find a good hotel offer! I had to go for value in the end as the single supplement was £500 which made most of the hotels out of my price range sadly, and with park tickets being an extra £400 plus I just couldn't justify a moderate/deluxe hotel (plus I'll barely be there anyway so I don't mind!) would rather have more money for merchandise! I'll try the more expensive hotels when I have someone I can drag along with me hehe!

That's great, and yay for mall shopping too, I especially love the Florida Mall! Are you ok to do the Halloween party on the 8th then? I've never been before so that will be fun plus I LOVE Halloween!! Would you dress up? Oooh I don't know, I'd like to try the Be Our Guest restaurant! What do you think? I must admit I'm a complete novice when it comes to the restaurants, ive done the T. rex one and that's about it! So I'm open to anything!

Is the weather bad in September then? One of the times I've been there was quite a bit of rain but that was June I think. But I'm easy going really, i don't mind queues or going back and forth between rides if necessary, fast pass is a bonus really! Only discovered it last year so before that I was used to hours of queues although an hours queue for the mine train was a bit much as the ride was so short it wasn't worth it! Doh!

I am still on the fence when it comes to the hotel. I like to do some shopping and not spending a fortune on lodging I have never been to the Mall of America but I can imagine it is huge!

Regarding TS restaurants I would love to check out one or two. Be our guest has a lovely theming and I would not mind having breakfast, lunch or dinner there. I love Tusker House mainly for the food but the characters are a nice bonus...or a distraction

We don't really celebrate Halloween in Germany so for me it will be really special. I am not sure if I will dress up...well, let's be honest...it would be sooo much fun I was thinking of doing the party on either 8, 11, 13. I will try to find out if one of the party dates is supposed to be extra crowded! I once heard that the first party of the year was really crowded because of all the bloggers and travel agents being there in addition to the "normal" guests. I don't know if that was a rumor. But I guess September 8 would be fine with me! Any ideas when you will be at Universal?

September is supposed to be hot and rainy. And I thought there is a higher chance of experiencing a hurricane than in May... But I guess Florida weather is just unpredictable!

Well I have linked my park ticket to the magic app so if you have a think about the restaurants/dates/times you'd like to book I can do that for us now! :) Ive only seen pics of Be Our Guest and it looks magical inside (Im a massive fan of beauty and the beast) I just googled Tusker House and it looks really nice! Ooh and I also think the Mexican place at Epcot looks nice to eat at (cant remember the name but its the one inside the pyramid) There are so many to choose from its a bit overwhelming!

Oh I didnt know that about the Halloween Party! I think the first night is the 3rd Sept? So maybe that one will be the blogger night? If you find out anything let me know, but yeah otherwise I can do the 8th or the 11th (I prob wont do the 13th as I will be leaving on the 14th so that night ill be stressing about packing no doubt as I always buy too much and cant fit it in my suitcase lol!) I havent thought about Universal yet, I was literally just going to see what I felt like when I got over there! But most likely on a Monday or Tuesday, hopefully the crowds will be less then! But like I said I am free to do whatever!

The idea of a hurricane sounds a tad scary, fingers crossed we wont have anything like that while we are over there! And I will be planning to drink lots of cold frappaccinos to combat the heat ;) yum!! Ah its all so exciting!!!!!!! :) x

Thanks for the offer. That would be awesome. I already tried quite a few of the restaurants. We went to the Mexican restaurant inside the pyramide in May - we were lucky an got a table next to the water. It was beautiful. Be our guest has a lovely theming, too. I had dinner there three years ago. I would love to try their breakfast but I guess all their pre park opening breakfasts are already booked

I think September 8 will be a good date for the Halloween party. What a pity that the universal horror nights won't be happening until September 16. But I am already excited to see the Harry Potter stuff!

I did not mean to scare you. I am sure everything will be okay Frappuccinos are perfec to combat the heat. And I would not mind having a Dole Whip or two. And I looove typhoon lagoon - crush'n gusher is just so much fun.
There is so much to do at WDW!!

I just tried for breakfast and dinner for all the dates in the first 2 weeks of sept but no luck, looks like its all booked up already :( But there seems to be lunches available so we can always do that? Cor crazy how in demand Be Our Guest is, and the Cinderella one is apparently really in demand too? Good job I am not a massive foodie otherwise I think I would be quite frustrated with Disney if I was really wanting to eat in nice restaurants every night! :( Is there anywhere else you would like me to try? There may be cancellations though while we are out there, just need to keep checking I reckon!

Sounds like a plan for the Halloween party then! Yay! I prob wont dress up either but I will see if I can get some Halloween ears or something for it! Yeah that is a shame about the universal nights as Ive always wanted to go to that, looks amazing!! Maybe next year! Yeah Harry Potter is fantastic, cant get enough of it! Ooh and I love Typhoon Lagoon too!! Prefer that one over Blizzard Beach, and their lazy river is fab! Do you go for character meets at all? Ive got free memory maker with my ticket so I will be making the most of that and getting tons of pics! I love Gaston!!! Swoon! Lol. x

I am counting on cancellations when it comes to Be our guest...or Cindys table
we usually had the dining plan (last time for free) that allowed us to try quite a few of the restaurants. I like to eat at a TS restaurant from time to time but not too often since it is rather expensive especially if I don't have the dinig plan! During our May trip we often winged it and just checked on the app what restaurants are available in the next hour. People do cancel all the time.

I have never been to Blizzard Beach but I would like to give it a try. But Typhoon Lagoon works fine with, too.

I don't mind meeting characters but I would never wait 120 minutes to meet the frozen girls. But I had a lovely meeting with Tiana and Chewbacca on my recent trip. And I definitely don't mind meeting Gaston

I found some good hotel offers on hotels.com but I don't know if I can get the magical express with it or the advantage of fast pass plus 60 days in advance??

Yes I had a look at some of the prices and I dont think I would want to be spending that much food very often! But I guess you are paying for the experience of being somewhere amazing to eat rather than the food itself! :) I bet a lot of people pre-book these things months in advance without actually knowing their plans anyway as easily changes doesnt it when you get there! Fingers crossed for lots of cancellations hehe!

I waited about an hour to meet the frozen girls, but I didnt actually realise the wait time and once I was in the queue I didnt really want to give up! Was good for the pics but not that exciting if Im honest! I did also wait about an hour to meet Baymax and Hiro but that was something I really wanted to do so didnt mind so much as they were wonderful to meet! Little Mermaid was good for a photo op but not so much on conversation, and same for Alice really! The only fun ones were Gaston and Hiro for conversation/interactions I think! Id love to meet any of the star wars lot, havent done that yet so I am jealous you met with chewie! I cant wait to see the Star Wars Launch Bay!!

I get the impression that the Magic Express (if you are talking about the disney coach from the airport to the disney hotels) is free for anyone with a disney hotel booking regardless of who the travel agent is (which is annoying as I only saw that after I had made my booking in which I asked for an airport transfers to be included, doh!) but may be best to double check that. I dont have the fast pass plus 60 day in advance option myself, but last year I didnt have any problems getting the passes I wanted anyway if I did them the day before or super early in the morning! I guess its what you feel happiest with though :) I am very much just going to wing it on this holiday as I've planned itineraries the past 4 times Ive been so will be nice to just go with the flow (aside from making plans with you, of course!)

I love how many solo women are taking the plunge! I'm also in my 30s and it's just not possible for me to go with friends for the most part. And I don't want to not go because life is for living.

I'm changing October dates because I overspent on this trip, haha! If I can scrape together the funds I might still do it but otherwise it will be March/April next year when I go back. I'm already itching to get going again, editing my videos is not helping at all.

I personally didn't get lonely at all really, had a fabulous time. As long as you go with the right attitude it should carry you through.

I bet waiting for next year will be a real struggle if you cant go again this October! Hope you get the funds together so you dont have to wait that long :) I am loving your you tube videos by the way, I have never seen the inside of Be Our Guest and it looks awesome!! Thanks for sharing!

I did not know that you can book the magical express even though you booked the Disney hotel through another website. Unfortunatelly I missed the hotel offer since it was only bookable until yesterday. But there was no time to book my flight yet and I prefere to book the flight before everything else. Work just kept me too busy but I am counting on this weekend!

I am sure we will find availabilities for restaurants like Cindys table or BOG. I went to the Star Wars breakfast 2 years ago and it was amazing. As you said you pay for the experience... But it sure was expensive...

I am surprised that you can't book fast pass plus 60 days in advance? I thought everyone who stays onsite can do so?

Do you also plan on visiting downtown Disney...as I still call it

Wow, have fun! I think my longest solo trip was 6 nights, so I'm a bit jealous...

I love going with family, but I also enjoy the solo trips...I generally try to go in March or early April.

One thing you might want to consider is renting a car. Two weeks is a long time without, and, especially since you have some offsite excursions planned, having the car would make getting around easier. September, relatively speaking, is fairly quiet there, so I would think there would be some good rates. If you look now, they'll probably be high, but sometimes the better rates are found just a few weeks prior to your departure date. That's just a suggestion...my personal preference is to have a car (especially since I generally stay offsite when solo), and the longer I'm there, the more I want it.

Since you mentioned the mall, you might also enjoy the outlets -- the closest to WDW is the Orlando Premium Outlets on Vineland Rd.

On your ADR's, keep looking occasionally for the ones you haven't been able to get. More slots may open, or more likely, cancellations may happen. Sometimes those cancellations happen the day before, so keep your eyes open.

From what I understand you ask the company that you book the disney hotel through to sort the magical express for you, or there is a reservation number you can call on the site. Yeah I didnt know any of this either and spent £35 on a transfer! Ah well. Hopefully you can get it all sorted this weekend! Must admit I was really stressed trying to decide what hotel/dates etc, getting in a right state! Now its all booked and paid for I feel so much better and relieved!

As for Fast Pass, the latest date I can select rides for is the 9th July, thats not 60 days is it? So I am not sure what is going on there? :( Buts its all cool as I dont think I'd be that organised anyway lol!

Gosh yeah, I LOVE downtown! I plan to go there as soon as I get to the hotel to drop my bags off! :) I like the market place bit best for all the cool Disney shops and lego! I take it you are a big fan of downtown too? :)

Are you on FB at all? Might be cool to chat on there if easier? Sometimes this site doesnt always work for me weirdly (an error comes up) Let me know as I can PM you my name so you can find me or vice versa!

It is sooo hard to decide. I would love to stay at the Grand Flo but there is nooo way I am going to spend that much money on a hotel... Not to mention that I would be broke afterwards ... I saw a really good offer on AKL but it is kind of "my mum and my" resort. I would like to try the POR royal rooms but the bus situation at POR is supposed to be...not the best since the hotel is huge. Coronado Springs seems to be kind of nice - I don't mind that it is a conference hotel.

I have only been to Downtown Disney twice but I loved it last time I was there. There is that ice cream place I'd like to try.

Unfortunately I cannot send any pm yet but if you can - please do so

Just post 2 more messages (you need 10), then you'll be able to send private/direct messages.

Don't rule out POR yet...its beautiful. There's an unofficial site at portorleans.org that's worth a look. On the other hand, at Disney you can't go wrong...

@FelineVintage: Hope you are getting the funds together. On the other hand April is a beautiful month in WDW!

If you haven't booked a hotel yet can I suggest you check out the US Disney website (you can get to it by clicking in the top right corner where it says English (UK)). They have free dining or back to school offers for the beginning of September. Some really good room discounts on there at the moment with availability everywhere except Pop

Sounds like you have a lot of choice and need to do some thinking about what one you want to choose eh! :) Exciting! Will you do that this weekend or just sort the flights and then do the hotel at a later date? Oh yeah I am addicted to downtown disney too, Ive been quite a few times but never tire of it and its really lovely at night! I cant seem to find any tab to send you a pm! Unless I am being dumb?!

But otherwise here is my full name - Leanda Gillings (I am on instagram as that name as well, and facebook so hopefully you can find me somewhere!)

I think I will sort out the flight situation before I book the hotel. I still need to think (and watch a lot of youtube videos) on which one I am going to choose.
I will contact you on FB. If you are on Whatsapp we can connect there, too btw I loooove your instagram pictures!!

Yes, we stayed there last September. It's really a beautiful setting and much quieter than the values. Depending on where you land, you may have a bit of a walk to the food court or a bus stop, but we lucked out and were within a minute or two of both.

Not being dumb at all...it's kind of hard to find. You may have found a better way to communicate already, but here's how I've been able to do it: Near the top of the page, you'll see a blue line with your logged in name on it. Hover the mouse over that and you'll see a bunch of links. One of them is Conversations. Click on that, then you'll see a 'Start a New Conversation' button. Click that and you should be in business.
