When late morning rolls around and you're feeling a bit out of sorts, don't worry; you're probably just a little eleven o'clockish. - Winnie the Pooh
I checked us in at the podium outside, and was reassured that the cake I'd ordered for David was indeed there. Then I joined my family on the porch to wait.
While we were waiting Daisy and Adam occupied themselves by taking pictures of their own faces and feet.
These extreme close ups were something they did every time they got their hands on my camera during our trip
On the Crystal Palace porch was where I saw the crabbiest people of our trip. The parents of preschoolers seemed especially harried. As names began being called to be seated I heard more than one stroller mom say "But we checked in first."
We were about the 5th family called and were escorted inside the restaurant,
and to a round table in kind of the middle of the room.
The waitress explained how the characters would make their way through the room, and took our drink order.
Everyone went to the buffet to get their food, which all looked fresh and delicious.
The restaurant filled up quickly and the characters began making their way around the room. Pooh and The Gang are favorites of ours so we enjoyed the character interaction a lot. All of the characters took their time and posed for multiple pictures and signed the autograph book. There was a nice pace to the characters, we had time to eat and talk over the day with each other in between each visit.
We saw Piglet and Tigger
then it was parade time with Pooh Bear. Both Joey and Adam joined in the parade.
Afterwards Pooh came by for a visit.
Eeyore was the last one to visit us, and Daisy missed him because she had just gone to get ice cream.
After Eeyore left and Daisy got back our waitress brought out David's birthday cake. I had been told they couldn't do Pooh characters so I had asked for a honey pot, but when the cake came it had a black background, which I'm assuming they did since it was for a 40th birthday, and had Winnie the Pooh on it.
I had hoped to serve the cake at the restaurant but the waitress brought it out so late everyone had already eaten dessert so we just had it boxed up to take with us. David also received a birthday card signed by all Pooh characters, which was very cute.
Everyone agreed that lunch at Crystal Palace had been delicious, and the atmosphere thoroughly enjoyable.
