"What goes up is sure to come down.
A penny lost is a penny found.
How do you do?
And here's a hearty back
A little bit of this and a little bit of that." -How Do You Do? Splash Mountain Lyrics
Floating down Main Street on our high from opening the park we crossed into Tomorrowland just as the rope was dropping. I sent everyone else to Indy Speedway while I grabbed Fast Passes for Space Mountain. When I got over there I found that Space Mountain was not open yet due to technical difficulties and I was amazed at the number of people just standing in line rather than grabbing Fast Passes.
After securing our Fast Passes I walked over to watch the kids drive on Indy Speedway.
I got there just in time to see the CMs attaching a sign to the back of David's car. The sign read "It's My Birthday."
Aunt Pat showed up then with much needed hot caffeine, so we sat and watched the cars while drinking our Nescafe imitation coffee.
There was hardly anyone else on Speedway so the kids ran around to drive again. While they were in line someone asked Daisy if she and her brothers matched every day.
Daisy said "We try."
We then headed across the park to Frontierland. By the way that's a much shorter walk in Disneyland! We stopped for a Photopass opportunity at the Rose Garden.
Great shots, including the classic pose with Tinkerbell.
Over the bridge and on our way to Frontierland.
Frontierland was empty and we walked right onto Big Thunder Mountain for our first ride on Disney World's version. We loved it! Big Thunder Mountain is my favorite ride at Disney World.
Splash Mountain was next.
The side by side seating is much nicer than Disneyland's single seat version. I have to give the win to Disneyland's version on this one though based solely on the superior surprise Bear Butt drop at Disneyland.
I knew another Fast Pass opportunity was opening up as we exited Splash so I told David to check out the picture to see if we wanted it and I would run grab Fast Passes for Big Thunder Mountain. I then said, and this is important, "I'll meet you at the entrance to ride Splash again."
I walked quickly to the BTM Fast Pass machines where a CM asked me to test out one of the machines. He said it hadn't been working and he wanted to see if it was fixed. It worked on the first card, but not the second, so he said to try it again. Didn't he know I was in a hurry? It didn't work again so I moved on to another machine and the CM covered that one up.
I then walked back to Splash expecting my family to be waiting for me. Picture my indignation when I got there and found only Aunt Pat, who informed me they had gone on without me. Apparently all David heard me say was "Go on Splash again." I called David's cell phone to see where in line they were and they were just getting on the ride.
I then proceeded to rant to Aunt Pat about being left out and David's inability to listen to me. Fortunetly by the time they got off I had mostly calmed down. Though my annoyance flared up again when they said they bought the picture. I believe my exact words were "Great we'll have evidence of the ride you all ditched me on."
Yeah I was over it. Mostly.
