"Music surrounds us
Laughter that found us
Twirling around this
Carousel of light and laughter!
We shall remember
This moment together
Let this night forever
Live in our dreams!" -Spectromagic
We stepped off the front porch of Tony's and right into a great spot to watch Spectromagic. We stood and waited for the parade to start, Daisy got a little bit of an attitude, but she worked herself out of it. I really wasn't sure we were going to get to see Spectro this night with our late dinner and the fact that it was predicted by both UG and TGM to be crowded, so I was thrilled with how the timing worked out. The lights dimmed, the music played, and the parade began.
At dinner we had decided we would stay and try the evening EMH and if it was to crowded we would leave, so after Spectromagic was over we walked across the way and received our EMH bracelets. Then we slowly made our way upstream against the crowd of people leaving after Spectro. This was a rather dangerous feat and one I would not do if I had smaller children! We finally made it to the side path I was looking for, waited for a few last strollers to exit and we were on an empty walkway! We staked out a spot under Tinkerbell's wire with a good view of the castle to wait for Wishes.
Adam had to go to the bathroom so David took him into Tomorrowland and taught him the trick for finding a bathroom, look for a fountain and there is usually one close by. They came back shortly and we settled in for Wishes.
During our trips to
Disneyland we had never managed to watch the fireworks so I was glad we were getting the opportunity to see Wishes early in our trip. There were only a few people anywhere near us, and Tinkerbell flew straight over our heads, which was really cool. The fireworks were amazing and we all gave them an enthusiastic thumbs up!
After Wishes we walked over to Adventureland, found the bathrooms over there, and then went on Pirates of the Caribbean. POTC is one of our favorite rides at Disneyland so we were eagerly ancticipating it, especially since the queu at Disney World is far superior to Disneyland's queu.
Though we did just zip through the queu as the ride was a walk on. We were rather disappointed in the Disney World version of POTC. The storyline didn't flow as well, there is only one drop, and it's shorter than the one at Disneyland. I don't think it helped that there were three teenage girls in front of us who kept taking flash pictures, which was really distracting.
Adventureland was deserted at this point, it was a little before 11pm when the park closed and EMH started. Our next venture was a Jungle Cruise. Jungle Cruises are always best after dark! We had the greatest CM on our ride. She told all the same corny jokes, but she delivered them in a very believable and funny manner. It was a great cruise! The kids then went on the Magic Carpets and I made David pose for a picture in front of a giant gold camel.
Next was a trip through Liberty Square and some fun in the stockades.
Then it was on to the Haunted Mansion. When we got in line the CM was turning people away who didn't have bracelets so EHM had officially started. We waited a few minutes and then we were in the stretching room. The CM here was great too. He was totally in character, he spent considerable time scolding one young woman for having her cell phone out and texting in the stretching room.
After the Haunted Mansion we continued around into Fantasyland and walked onto It's a Small World.
Joey professed a hatred for the song and thought he was being tortured. So now whenever he pulled out the fake italian accent, Daisy and Adam started sing It's a Small World. Siblings at their best.
The kids went on the carousel and then Adam once again had to find a bathroom.
After he and David returned the kids went on the Tea Cups.
Then we moved on to Tomorrowland and Adam's favorite. Indy Speedway.
Everyone but me drove the cars around the track. They all declared Disney World's Indy Speedway far superior to Disneyland's Autopia.
I enjoyed my time sitting on a bench and watching people. I was shocked and amazed at how few people there actually were there!
