Hi,

This is our first time to WDW, for both me and my partner. We are going for 3 weeks and have a 21 day Ultimate Pass and a 14 day 5 Park Flexiticket, along with a day booked at Discovery Cove and a night at MNSSHP....still with me.

Anyway please find below my first attempt at a plan for our hols, we are staying on International Drive thus won't be making use of EMH's and have tried to avoid EMH's Parks, up until now we are planning to use local transport and not a car.

Sat 08/10 - Flight
Sun 09/10 - Animal Kingdom
Mon 10/10 - Disney MGM + Fantasmic
Tue 11/10 - Typhoon Lagoon
Wed 12/10 - Epcot
Thu 13/10 - Magic Kingdom + MNSSHP
Fri 14/10 - Disney MGM
Sat 15/10 - Epcot + Illuminations
Sun 16/10 - Magic Kingdom + Spectromagic
Mon 17/10 - Blizzard Beach
Tue 18/10 - Sea World
Wed 19/10 - Busch Gardens
Thu 20/10 - Island of Adventure
Fri 21/10 - Wet n Wild
Sat 22/10 - Discovery Cove - Already Booked
Sun 23/10 - Either Animal Kingdom or Seaworld....not sure which, any ideas?
Mon 24/10 - Univerisal
Tue 25/10 - Island of Adventure
Wed 26/10 - Water Park...Whichever we enjoyed the the most
Thu 27/10 - Univerisal
Fri 28/10 - Whichever park we've enjoyed the most
Sat 29/10 - Flight Home

I would appreciate any ideas or comments on the above. Now I've written it down its seems a lot, but we've always said if we ever went to WDW, we'd do it properly, as not sure when we'd be back.

sounds very hectic, think I'd need another holiday when I got back to recover !

Good that you've got the water parks to split things up a bit and have a rest, you'll need it. Make sure that you listen to your bodies, if you are feeling whacked, have a rest, or do a bit of shopping, or have a lie in - even if it doesnt quite fit with your plan - you will thank yourself for it !

Ive only been once before, and had a pretty manic schedule, but I under-estimated how big the parks were, and how much walking was involved. Most nights we were totally shattered (only in early 30's), and missed out on evening entertainment, so this year the plan is a little more subdued so we can hopefully enjoy pleasure island and citiwalk, and we have the added bonus of having the third week on the beach.

Yeah we will hopefully pace ourselves. The plan isn't set in stone, and may change depending on how we feel.

I forgot to mention that hopefully on the water park days, with it being a slower day we will do City Walk and Pleasure Island.

 WOW! You are gonna be very buisy!, You didnt say if your going to be doing full days at the parks or if you are gonna split them into half days, also i see you dont have any rest days at all, even though you do have some days at the water parks, you may want to rethink and have just a couple of chill out days. Maybe you are both super fit! :Pinkbounc but i personaly would have to be carried out of the park on a stretcher after all those park days in a row :) Good luck, and remember to wear your oldest comfiest shoes and bring lots of blister plasters or moleskin LOL!!

Audrey,
xxxxxx :)

My only comment would be that you seem to have something scheduled for every day. On a 3 week holiday, I would have thought you would need at least 2 rest days (personally, I wouldn't class Water Park visits as rest days). It all depends on how much energy you have, though. As it's your first visit, I can appreciate that you want to pack loads in but beware you don't end up getting parked-out!!!

Personally I would try to keep at least every third day park-free. Looks to me like you're heading for some seriously major burnout. Apart from anything else there's much more to Orlando/Kissimmee than theme parks and you won't see any of it on that itinerary. Try to schedule in some proper rest days and remember, if you don't get to do everything you want then you have the perfect excuse to go back again!

Ps: before DD came along, DW and I had been to Florida/Orlando on four occasions, each one for three weeks. Even without kids, and allowing proper rest days, our normal schedule was hectic enough. You really do need to pace yourself, just ask anyone on these boards.

Personally I like your plan, A good spread of days with water parks mixed in.

Although I wouldnt class a water park as a rest day it does involve far less walking and a shorter day so you can either have a lie in or an early night depending on how you feel.

I do understand your excitement and need to fit everything in but I would recommend using your plan as a guide only and listen to what your body wants regarding rest's as without a car you will find it difficult to go home a lunchtime for a nap/swim then return to the park in the evening.

It`ll be great, though as others have said listen to your body especially the feet! For a rest during your park days in WDW visit some of the resorts, it`s a lovely relaxing thing to do. So if you were in the Magic Kingdom you could take the boat to Wilderness Lodge. All of the resorts are fabulous and well worth a look and it prevents park burnout.
Have a fabulous time.

I would say that you will reach burn-out at the start of your 3rd week! In '03 we went en-masse,my youngest sister could only stay for 2 weeks & hadn't been before so we crammed every park into 14 days! For those of us that stayed for the 3rd week, the pace had been too much!!
We try to do 2parks,water park (blizzard beach is definately not a rest day!!) & then an off day-normally this would be a lie in,resort pool & shopping later on.Your MK day will be a very long day-opening to closing ,is going to be 15 hours!!Our plan(in early planning stages) is as follows:
WED. MK WED. MGM WED. Flex
THU. EP THU. Off THU. TL
FRI. TL FRI. IOA FRI. MNSSHP
SAT.La Nouba SAT. AK SAT. HHN
SUN. US SUN.WW SUN. Off
MON. SW MON. Off MON. WDW
TUE. BB TUE. BG TUE. Home

Apologies all my spaces have disappeared!! Unfortunately I don't know how to attach my proper itinerary!!
SD lol :paw:

I would definitely build in some rest days.

We took a podometer to WDW this time, just out of interest to see how far we walked. We did a couple of nearly full days but mostly just did 5-6 hours at a park or less and we walked somewhere between 8 and 10 miles every day we went into a park.

You aren't going at a time when the heat and humidity will really take its toll which is good news, but I would honestly prepare yourselves to need to take some time by the pool as well as all the parks :)

You better not enjoy Disney's Blizzard Beach then as it is closed on that day. However if your on the UK website you would think it was open, see here http://disneyworld.disney.go.com/wd...BCalendarParkHoursMonthlyViewPage&date=102005 but the USA website says it's closed http://disneyworld.disney.go.com/wd...BCalendarParkHoursMonthlyViewPage&date=102005 I think Mickey Mouse runs the UK website ;)

Joking aside I loved Blizzard Beach, however even I couldn't do a full day due to the lovely weather.

I would have to echo the others who said that there ought to be some rest days built in. The flight always makes us groggy for at least a couple of days and the humidity will take its toll too. We always build in a rest day or half a day every couple of days. For instance if we are doing the illuminations at Epcot in the evening we would go tot he park int he morning, have afternoon naps and then back again in the eveing. With the ticket syou have you can go in and out of as many parks as you like each day so shouldn't be a problem.
