We're looking at a possible trip at the end of next July. We have never stayed off site before and have always booked packages directly through Disney, flown, used ME & Disney transportation only so this is going to be a whole new experience for us.

I have seen so many good things about Wyndham Bonnet Creek so I looked into that and it seemed like the perfect first offsite place for us. I was just talking to my brother tonight and he is thinking about coming with us. He is a Hilton employee which means he can get some great rates at times for Hilton brand hotels. I know absolutely nothing about off site hotels (Bonnet Creek is the only one I have researched) so I was wondering if anyone had stayed at any they could recommend. The most important thing is location to the four Disney parks. That is one thing I love about BC is that it is right next to CBR. Hilton hotels include - Hiltons obviously, Doubletree, Embassy Suites, Hampton Inn, Hilton Garden Inn those are the main ones. Are there any of these that are relatively close to Disney property that we can check out? Thanks!

Just to clarify. Make sure you are comparing apples to apples. Wyndham Bonnet Creek is a condo community, so a different experience from a hotel. Wyndham Grand is a hotel in the Bonnet Creek community. Within the same proximity are The Waldorf Astoria (also a Hilton property), Hilton Bonnet Creek, Hilton Downtown Disney on Hotel Plaza Blvd, and the Doubletree on Hotel Plaza Blvd. These are all approx. the same distance between the parks.

I have stayed at all of these properties and the only one I would not return to is the Doubletree (although I have heard it is undergoing a significant renovation now).

Bonnet Creek condos are very nice for a week or longer stay with a washer/dryer, kitchen and more privacy. The service at the Waldorf and Hilton Bonnet Creek have been very good. The Hilton DTD is a basic Hilton with an older layout for the rooms but well kept and clean, service has been fine there.

I agree with PP, a little confused. If you are trying to book via Hilton employee discount then Wyndham Bonnet Creek will not be included. I have stayed there and it's great, but it's a condo complex not associated with Hilton. There is a Hilton and Waldorf on the same property as Wyndham Bonnet Creek is but it is not part of the Bonnet Creek complex of condos built around the lake. It is across street on golf course. Not sure why you are happy it is next to CBR, I mean technically it is but there is no connection to get there other than back out on to main road.

There are lots of Hiltons in the area you can look at. I just stayed 9 days at brand new Embassy Suites that is 4 miles out of WDW. It was beautiful, top service, good sized pool and hot tub, and awesome breakfast with cooked to order omelets etc. I would return in a heartbeat. Never had a suite with so much space and storage. I've stayed at DTD Hilton, DTD Doubletree, LBV Embassy, LBV Hampton, International Embassy.... Depends on what you want to spend and where you want to be location wise and amenities you want.

The Waldorf is going to be your best bet. It's the nicest Hilton brand hotel closest to the parks. Another good one is the Hilton Orlando on I-Drive, but it is about a 15 minute drive to the parks.

Yes I do realize the difference between just a hotel room and a condo community. I just meant we had been looking at BC and then my brother realized if we are staying off site then we might as well look into the places he can get a discount (which is just at hotels, not condos like BC) so thank you. Thanks for your information on all the properties you have stayed at.

Sorry I don't think my OP was clear and very jumbled together. I know that we cannot get a discount at BC. We had looked into BC for staying off site and then it dawned on my brother that he gets those great rates at Hiltons and that we should look into what Hilton hotels would be as close to Disney as BC is to Disney.

As far as it being next to CBR I was excited because that meant that it was just as close as a Disney resort and not farther away. I have no intention of going to CBR or anything, I just was talking about BC's location. Like I said this will be our first offsite stay and I was under the impression anything off site would be father away than what BC is. We have always used Disney transportation so I guess I never realized there were offsite hotels so close.

We looked into the Embassy Suites, the pictures look amazing! Right now there are no rooms available at the employee rate though, bummer.

Thanks for your reply!

Oh we all so wish his discount worked at the Waldorf!

We have stayed at Embassy Suites South and the property is very nice but traffic and times to parks would prevent us from returning. We found it added an extra 15 or more during peak times to get to the parks.

If you are looking for a resort style property that is closest to the parks I would go with Hilton Bonnet Creek. It meets our needs for a resort style property with a nice pool, valet parking, and room service. You can also share amenities with the Waldorf.

I don't know what price point you are looking at but with discounts we can often find the Waldorf for around 160 for a basic 2 queens or 240 for a King suite. This does not include tax or the resort fee. My kids are older so I have not paid too much attention but I think kids under 12 eat free with a paying adult in the basic restaurant (I think is was Harvest something) The Hilton Bonnet Creek is often more expensive for us as the discounts don't seem to be as deep. Just check the prices as sometimes gp discounts can be as good or better than employee. HTH
