to the Poly for the electrical water pageant at 9, unfortunately we didn't land until 11pm so that blew that out of the water.

This gives me such a vivid mental picture :) - I hope the pageant survived.

Downtown Disney and a meal at Rainforest Cafe. Last yr we flew with Virgin and we did not have time. This is how we would spend our first night.

Get to the hotel, get a club sandwich off room service (its a tradition for some reason :) ) have a walk round the resort and in bed by 9pm usually.

First day is DTD, a pizza for lunch at Wolfgang Pucks whilst peple watching followed by Goodings and then the pool.

First day we used to go to Seaworld as a quiet start to the parks (that was in the days when we always did them all and stayed all day)

We check-in, then walk around the hotel and get something to eat, then go back to the room to unpack and try and get an early night (well early night Florida time).

This will be the first time staying at a Disney hotel. So the day before the flight get down to Gatwick and stay in the hotel, leaving me nice and relaxed for the flight. Then(if the flight get there on time) head down to DTD to have a Ghirradellis Sundae and at 9pm a meal at Planet Hollywood. I just hope I don't wake up at 4 am every monring like I did last year.

:dance3: :dance3: :wave2: :woohoo: :moped: :cloud9: :cheer2: :wizard:

we usually have a meal booked at the dtd rainforest cafe, which we learned is a mistkae to do as by the time dinner arrives the room has started to swim and I am dead tired

This year is totally different as we are in a villa with family and dont land till 17.30. So we will head for the villa and stop by a publix, then jump in the pool
un packing will wait till the morning lol when I am up at 4am

For us it's usually off to the hotel to get checked in, quick sorting out of cases and a freshen up, then off out for something decent to eat! That's followed by a trip to Walmart to stock up on essentials (and some not-so-essentials!). This year we're going on the earlier Virgin flight giving us a bit of extra time to play with so we'll be slotting in a visit to Epcot for Illuminations before we go to Walmart! :thumbsup2

Usually we just make a trip to DTD and have a meal but this year we are going to see Pink at the HOB. No doubt we'll be knackered but hey....we're on holiday!

Im so jealous we fly on the 27th so we miss her by 1 day

we usually just have a shower, then go and grab some food and chill out on the balcony.

This year we are not unpacking the cases properly as we are going on the cruise after a day.

Usually go to Denny's for my first fix of chicken strips but will be onsite tat Pop his time o will go to DTD, maybe McDonalds or Planet Hollywood depending on how hungry we are, Has to be DTD so we can exchange MYW vouchers for tickets so no time wasted on a park day queueing at guest relations!

Aways unpack before bed as I hate doing it so have to get it out of the way!

on are first day, we dont arrive til the evening so we dumped our bags in our villa and go to the clubhouse and have dinner at the pizzarie (sp), then we'll go back to our villa unpacked

we are very much like others on here, and have now a little tradition.
Through customs, collect the car, re tune the radio to WTKS Real Radio 104.1
(I can get my fix beforehand by listening on line at http://www.wtks.com/ )

take the back road out of Orlando Airport and down to the Publix supermarket at Orange Lake Town Centre (we know the layout and where everything is)
By the way, this week they have a specials USDA steak at $2.99 a Lb Kellogs cereals on BOGOF and Florida Pink Shgrimp at $5.99 a lb and 12 pack Michlobe Ultra at $8.99 :)

Then across the road to the Subway, get some foot long subs and extras, then drive to the villa, unpack, drink the beer, eat the subs, watch some telly and try to stay up to 22:30 ish to get into the Fla swing.

heaven :thumbsup2

Hi everyone

I was just wondering what you all do when you first arrive into disney?

As we fly with virgin we arrive into orlando early afternoon, but we have the airport hassle to do first and checking in at disney. But after all that we like to go to DTD.

On our first full day we always go to MK :woohoo:

Just curious as to what you all do on the afternoon / evening you arrive into disney?

Do you have any traditions that you live by when you go to disney?

As soon as we arrive,we go for a swim in our pool.
The toddlers will watch telly or play with the toy box at the villa whilst I stay in the spa for half hour.
We'll have a nice meal and try to stat up to adjust to US time. Then have a glorious sleep.
We stay at the villa on the 2nd day-all day by pool.
Then nearly every day after that - we hit the parks,

Lynn :woohoo:

We stayed on I-drive last time, quickly unpacked, went for a walk down i-drive - got caught in a huge rainstorm (forgot the waterproofs, but never did again!!), back to room and chilled out watching TV. Woke up really early, had a cuddle ( :) !) then drove to Walmart to get some drinks and snacks, it was so humid there was loads of condensation on the windows so we had to wipe it all down with tissue. Our first day we always spend at Gatorland cos it's easy paced and breaks us in gently to the florida heat, 2nd day seaworld.

First 3 times, just got to the villa/hotel and went out for food. Last year and this year we have nice early flights getting into Sanford at 12.30 pm so we will be dumping the luggage and heading over to Sea World, which is only 5 minutes away. We stayed up till 10 pm last year (full 24 hours awake) and it worked a treat, we actually woke up at the proper morning time and not 4.30 ish in the morning like we normally did.

Go to a bar, drink lots of alcohol, stay awake as long as I can, get up early, hope this helps.

We usually try and do a relaxing park the first full day, usually Epcot or Animal Kingdom! =]
