First night ideas?

If you go to one of the parks just for the evening doesn't that use up one of your day passes???:confused3

I would say the majority of people from the UK buy tickets like 14/21 day Ulitimate tickets which give you unlimited admission for either 14 or 21 days. or like us have Annual passes so we can just go into parks for fireworks, a meal or a few rides then back out again.
We did consider buying a 10 day magic your way hopper that did not expire for about £220 and maybe keep 2 or 3 days for next year but for £200 we got AP's with free parking for the year and gives us the ability to just go in for 2 or 3 hours when we want instead of wasting a full day.

I was about to ask the same question, seeing as we get the 14-day pass, but have 15days of holiday. I would rather just stay in the hotel on arrival day than miss out on the parks on departure day.

We always find that by the time we get to the hotel there isn't much time for parks anyway, especially when staying off-site! So we purposefully book the later flights from the UK, as well as the later flight from the US, so we get maximum time that way - less time on the first night when we wouldn't be doing anything anyway, and then extra time on the last day when we can do the parks!

Oh, I'm so excited already! What am I going to be like when there's only a week to go rather than 4months?!!!

Well. lucky you lot with all your passes:rolleyes1 We only have a five day hopper pass, so will need to plan VERY carefully

Check in, shower, then on to DTD to eat and soak up a bit of atmosphere.

Then back to the hotel for bed by about 10pm, usually get very little sleep due to excitement and then up early for MK park opening next day.

Can't wait.

why would anyone eat in McDonalds with all the other choice.

Because I need to eat but tend to only eat a little and throw the rest away so i am not going to waste money - besides I am usually too tired to enjoy anything so it is a waste IMO.

We eat at all the other nice places for the rest of the holiday ;)

I didn't think 5 day hoppers were about anymore with all the good offers for the 14 and 21 day tickets.

Claire ;)

The last two years we have just gone straight round to Sea World as it was only 5 minutes from the hotel. We arrived in Orlando at 12.30 pm, at the hotel about 3 ish then to the park.

We have found by doing this, and the excitement keeps us going, we are able to stay up till 11 pm, thereby not having that early morning syndrome where we all wake up at 5 am because our body clocks are still on UK time.

We usually drop cases off, go to Wendy's then back to the hotel for a quick swim so that we don't fall asleep to early.:)

Most times we check in at hotel and freshen up then on to DD for a bite to eat then it's an early night for us so we're up bright and breezy for our 1st full day at the parks.

Just done our 1st night. We were on the later Virgin flight than we normally do, so arrived at 6pm instead of 3pm, Immigration was long lines as we were one of last off plane. So result was didn't get to hotel until 8pm. Had some quick food and been to publix. Now back at hotel having a few bottles of Bud as DS did not sleep on plane, I had 5 hours so will go to sleep about midnight.

Hi Cath
Yes from Man. Flight was ok took off 30 mins late but arrived on schedule. Just posted on my thread about the food you should be able to find it no problem. I would take sandwiches if you are in economy, its about the worst transatlantic food going. As for the weather, been here 2 days and it has been very cold and raining, the Floridians think its great as they have had hardly any rain recently but its colder than our Xmas trip. The forcast is warmer every day from now on and upto mid 80's by Wednesday so hopefully last day of the cold today.
Have a safe flight and great trip.
Wayne

we always arrive about 6pm florida time and have got our first evening down to a fine art!!

Stop off at Sweet tomatoes for a huge buffet tea (never eat plane food)
Dump bags at hotel
Zoom over to DTD for a mooch around world of disney and have our first
Ghiradelli ice cream.

Then we head back to hotel too excited to sleep and manage to make MK
ropedrop.

(We don't sleep much on holiday-we live off adreneline and sleep when we
are flying home!!)

Definitely takeaway or quick pick up from supermarket...then unpack and relax round the pool.
The kids age 10 and 8 would not want to do anything other than jump in the pool. They would have their trunks on during the flight if I let them.
Doing it like this, they get to have fun straight away...i take the evening slowly DH sorts food whilst I unpack. The thought of having to get cleaned up ready to go out again is too draining.
Doing it this way I think we are ready to get up and go at a normal time the next day.

Have a lovely time.:laundy:

Hi Kaz,
Publix is a large supermarket (one of my favourites) a bit like Tesco or Sainsburys.
